Consider what you have received as sufficient, only then life becomes happy – Pt. Shubham Agnihotri
Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is being organized in Shankar Park near Shri Shankar Parvati Temple located in Suresh Nagar Thathipur. Young storyteller Pt. Shubham Agnihotri, who has come from Mathura, is showering the nectar of the story.
On the first day of the story, he narrated the story of Atmdev Brahmin while making people listen to the greatness of Shrimad Bhagwat. He told that due to not having a child, Atmdev Brahmin became very sad and went to the forest to give up his life, where he met a saint. The saint told that he was not destined to have a child for seven births. Still, on the request of the Brahmin, he gave him a fruit to get a child.
The Brahmin's wife fed that fruit to the cow mother and adopted her sister's son. In this way, the family had two sons named Dhundhakari and Gokarna. Dhundhakari remained involved in vices like immorality, alcohol consumption, gambling and affliction. Distressed by his misdeeds, the Brahmin finally went to the forest and gave up his life.
Through this incident, Pandit Shubham explained that one should be satisfied by considering whatever one has in life as sufficient. Dissatisfaction and greed ultimately lead to misery.
At the end of the story, all the devotees performed aarti with devotion.
