Demand for caste census
The demand for starting caste census has also arisen from Indore city. In Indore, former state general secretary of Congress, Rakesh Singh Yadav has demanded caste census from the Madhya Pradesh government. He said that the 27 percent reservation given to Other Backward Classes i.e. OBC in the state should be ensured on the basis of caste census. Actually, Rakesh Singh Yadav specifically demanded that 15 percent of this reservation should be fixed for Yadav community. He also urged the state government to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court regarding OBC reservation, so that the reservation system can be strengthened and justified. Also, he thanked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and said that due to his efforts, important steps have been taken towards caste census across the country.
