CYBER POLICE STATION, DWARKA DISTRICT BRINGS THE CURTAINS DOWN TO HIGH-PROFILE ADMISSION FRAUD SYNDICATE, WITH ARREST OF 02 FRAUDSTERS, OPERATING FROM NCR.

• BOTH ACCUSED ARRESTED FROM INDIRAPURAM, GHAZIABAD, UTTAR PRADESH.
• PROMPT AND SWIFT POLICE ACTION TAKEN BY CYBER POLICE STATION DWARKA.
• 31 OTHER COMPLAINTS FOUND REGISTERED AGAINST THE ACCUSED GROUP.
 
 
In a major breakthrough against organized cyber fraudsters, Cyber Police Station, Dwarka has busted a gang of admission racketeers operating under the garb of educational counselling.
 
02 accused persons have been arrested and cash amounting to Rs. 1.34 Crore has been recovered in an operation showcasing outstanding technical expertise and swift field action. 
 
CASE BACKGROUND: -
On 25.08.2025, case FIR No. 50/25, U/s 318(4)/61(2) BNS was registered at Cyber Police Station, Dwarka on the complaint of Mrs. Mukesh, a Head Constable in Delhi Police. She reported that she received an SMS in the name of JM-IPUUDL-P offering admission for her son in IP University through Management Quota. 
The SMS carried a contact number of one Lavanya. On contacting, she was called to their office at 604, Bhandari House, Nehru Place, New Delhi.
After negotiations, the fraudsters agreed to secure admission in Surajmal College for Rs. 3.5 Lakhs, out of which Rs. 2.3 Lakhs were paid by her at their office on 29.07.2025. Subsequently, the fraudsters switched off their phones and vacated their office.
 
MODUS-OPERANDI: -
The gang lured parents of aspiring students who have just passed their 12th, through bulk SMS services by posing as admission consultants for reputed colleges and universities in Delhi. 
They assured admissions under management quota, collected hefty sums, and then went underground by shutting down offices and switching off phones. Preliminary inquiry with PS Kalkaji revealed 31 complaints had already been lodged against this group, which were later found transferred to EOW.
 
INVESTIGATION CONDUCTED: -
 
Acting promptly, a dedicated team of Cyber PS Dwarka District carried out painstaking technical surveillance, digital footprint analysis, IP tracing, and by utilising technical skills across multiple platforms. 
After multilayered technical analysis, the suspects were zeroed down at Indirapuram, Ghaziabad, U.P.
 
TEAM & OPERATION: -
This successful operation was carried out under the overall supervision of Sh. Ankit Singh IPS - DCP/Dwarka, and under the close supervision of Sh. Ram Avtar, ACP/Ops. 
 
The technical operation and field raids were led by the prolific Insp. Rajeev Kumar - SHO/PS Cyber Dwarka, skilled - SI Vikas Sangwan, ASI Ajay Paswan No. 285/SPC, HC Sunil No. 1599/SPC, HC Abhay No. 1596/SPC, HC Shri Ram Kajla No. 1278/DW, HC Deepak No. 852/DW, W/HC Kamlesh No. 2814/DWK & Ct. Naresh No. 1708/DWK. 
 
The team displayed exemplary technical acumen, meticulous digital forensics and swift execution of raids resulting in the busting of this high-profile admission fraud syndicate.
 
PROFILE OF THE ARRESTED ACCUSED PERSONS: -
1. Kushagra Shrivastava S/o Vijay Kumar Shrivastava, R/o Niti Khand-2, Indirapuram, Ghaziabad (B.Tech), aged 35 years.
2. Chinmaya Sinha S/o Kewal Kumar, R/o Niti Khand-1, Indirapuram (B.Com), aged 32 years.
 
RECOVERY: -
• Cash Rs. 1,34,66,000.00/- (Rs. 1.34 Crore)
• Six high end Mobile Phones.
• One high end Laptop.
• Documents.
FURTHER ACTION: -
Both arrested accused are being interrogated for their wider network of fraud and possible links with similar interstate gangs are being explored. Income Tax Department has been informed regarding the huge cash recovery for further necessary action.
