One active motor vehicle thief arrested by the staff of PS Patparganj Industrial Area.
Stolen Mahindra Champion three-wheeler (DL1RQ**) recovered.
Absconding accused traced through CCTV footage, human intelligence & technical surveillance.
Accused found to be addicted to alcohol and smack; motive was to arrange easy money for addiction and livelihood.

INTRODUCTION: -

The staff of PS Patparganj Industrial Area, East District successfully solved a motor vehicle theft case with the arrest of the accused and recovery of the stolen vehicle. The dedicated and persistent efforts of the investigating staff led to the breakthrough.

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -

On 26.04.2025, complainant Sh. Suresh Yadav S/o Rama Yadav R/o Shivpuri, Delhi lodged a complaint regarding theft of his three-wheeler Mahindra Champion (DL1RQ**), following which FIR No. 011510/25 U/s 305(b) BNS was registered at PS Patparganj Industrial Area. The case was entrusted to HC Anshul, who analyzed available CCTV footage. It was observed that a person was seen stealing the vehicle from Patparganj Industrial Area and driving it away. The route of the vehicle was tracked through CCTV cameras, leading to the recovery of the stolen vehicle on 27.04.2025 from Seemapuri, Delhi. Further investigation and local enquiry, supported by human intelligence, established the identity of the accused as Dilip Sarkar, a resident of West Vinod Nagar, Mandawali, Delhi. Several raids were conducted at his residence, but he remained absconding and was deliberately concealing himself to evade arrest. His mobile phone was kept under surveillance, and warrants were also obtained from the Hon’ble Court. On 27.08.2025, specific information was received about the accused’s arrival at his residence. Acting swiftly, a police team led by HC Anshul conducted a raid at West Vinod Nagar, Mandawali and successfully apprehended the accused, who had been absconding for months. Further investigation of the case is ongoing.

Occupation: Used to ply vehicles on rental basis.
