NOTORIOUS HISTORY-SHEETER, WANTED IN ROBBERY CASE ARRESTED BY STAFF OF PS PATEL NAGAR, CENTRAL DISTRICT.

* A DESPERATE ACCUSED AND HABITUAL OFFENDER, ARRESTED BY THE TEAM OF PS PATEL NAGAR.

* ACCUSED WANTED IN ROBBERY CASE OF PS PRASAD NAGAR.

* ONE BUTTON-ACTUATED KNIFE RECOVERED FROM HIS POSSESSION; SEPARATE CASE UNDER THE ARMS ACT REGISTERED.

* ACCUSED PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN MULTIPLE CASES OF ROBBERY, SNATCHING, AND ARMS ACT.

* ARREST MADE ON THE BASIS OF TECHNICAL INPUTS AND SUSTAINED MANUAL SURVEILLANCE.

BRIEF OF INCIDENT:

In the intervening night of 15/16.06.2025, an incident of mobile phone robbery was reported at PS Prasad Nagar. The complainant informed that on Arya Samaj Road, Bapa Nagar, Karol Bagh, Delhi, two persons obstructed his way and robbed his mobile phone before fleeing the spot.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 244/2025, u/s 309(4) BNS was registered. During investigation, one accused Ajay @ Gugla (R/o Karol Bagh, Delhi) was arrested by the team of PS Prasad Nagar and the robbed mobile phone was also recovered from the accused Ajay. However, his co-accused Gaurav @ Mota, a history-sheeter, was evading arrest by frequently changing hideouts.

As per the directions of Worthy DCP/Central District, central district police was continuously working to trace and arrest left-over/wanted criminals of the District.

TEAM & OPERATION:

On 02.09.2025, PS Patel Nagar police received a secret information regarding the movement of wanted criminal Gaurav @ Mota, who had been absconding in the above case.

Acting swiftly on the secret information, a raiding team was constituted under the leadership of Insp. Naveen Kumar, SHO/Patel Nagar, comprising SI Mahesh Kumar, HC Mahender, Ct Dalip, Ct Bhupinder, and Ct Aman, under the close supervision of ACP Sunil Kumar. The team laid a trap near DMS Booth, Patel Nagar, and successfully arrested the accused. On frisking, one button-actuated knife was recovered from his possession. A separate case under the Arms Act has been registered.

MODUS OPERANDI:

During interrogation, the accused disclosed his modus operandi that he along with associates, targeted individuals walking alone at night or in less-crowded areas. He often carried a button-actuated knife to terrorize victims. After committing robbery or snatching, he quickly escaped the place to avoid being caught. To evade arrest, he frequently shifted hideouts between Karol Bagh, Patel Nagar, and adjoining areas.

With the arrest of the accused, a wanted and habitual criminal has been brought to justice, reaffirming the commitment of Central District Police towards crime control and public safety.
