ONE DESPERATE ROBBER WHO IS PREVIOUSLY INVOLVED IN A MURDER CASE & MULTIPLE HEINOUS CASES ARRESTED BY THE STAFF OF PS NEW ASHOK NAGAR

Robbery committed by an auto-driver during late night hours.
Victim attacked, robbed of bag, mobile phone & cash.
Dedicated police team analyzed more than 70 CCTV cameras & used ANPR technology.
Accused identified as Deepak, a habitual offender with 20 previous cases of robbery & murder.

INCIDENT

On 01.09.2025, a PCR call regarding robbery by an auto-driver was received in PS New Ashok Nagar, and the same was entrusted to SI Tanuj. During the enquiry, the complainant, namely Sandeep s/o Jagveer, stated that during the night hours at about 01.35 am, while he was heading back to his home, i.e. Dallupura, from Anand Vihar bus stand in an auto, approx. 200 mtrs before the destination, the auto driver acted about the breakdown of the auto, wherein the victim stepped out of the auto and paid the fare. Thereafter, the auto driver tried to snatch his duffel bag. After the resistance from the victim, the auto driver choked him from behind and hit him on his back head and robbed him of his bag, mobile phone, and cash of about 5000rs and left him fainted lying on the road, and fled away from the crime spot. During this incident, the victim sustained injuries to his head and was hospitalized in Dharamshila Hospital. After verifying the facts, a case FIR No. 459/25 u/s 309(6) BNS was registered.

INVESTIGATION: -

Matter being heinous, a dedicated team of SI Tanuj, HC Ajit Malik, HC Nitin, and HC Boby was constituted under the guidance of SHO/New Ashok Nagar and supervision of ACP/Kalyanpuri to apprehend the accused. The team analyzed the scene of the crime and checked the nearby CCTV cameras. After the analysis of more than 70 CCTV cameras, the offending auto was seen coming from Kondli Pul towards Dallupura by taking the Nala Road, but the registration number of the auto was not clearly visible. Thereafter, with the help of ANPR cameras and applying permutation and combination, the registration number of the auto was obtained as DL1RS5**9, which was found registered in the name of Arif R/o Anar Malka Ganj, Delhi. Thereafter, the team reached “Malka Ganj” and interrogated the owner, who stated that he had lent his auto to one Mr. Nusrat, who also stays in Malka Ganj. Thereafter, the team interrogated Mr Nusrat, who revealed that he had further lent the auto to Mr. Deepak, who stays in Arya Pur, Malka Ganj, and knows his place very well. The team then conducted a raid at Deepak’s house and apprehended him. The alleged offending auto was also recovered from outside his house, and the same was taken into police possession. During interrogation, the accused was identified as Deepak R/o Arya Pura, Malka Ganj, Delhi age 44 years. A cash amount of Rs 3600 was also recovered from his possession. Further investigation is underway.

MODUS OPERANDI:

• The accused used to operate a borrowed auto and target passengers during late night hours.

• He would simulate a breakdown near deserted stretches, overpower victims by physical assault, and flee with their valuables.

It was further revealed that Deepak is a desperate criminal previously involved in 20 heinous cases, including robbery and murder.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED

1. Deepak R/o Arya Pura, Malka Ganj Delhi age 44 years is previously involved in 20 criminal cases.

RECOVERY

1. Offending vehicle Auto No. DL1RS5**9

2. Cash of Rs 3600/-.
