On 15th August, the main Independence Day celebration in Indore will be held at 9 AM at the RAPTC Ground, Mahesh Guard Line. Collector Ashish Singh will hoist the national flag and take the salute of the parade. All preparations for the event have been completed. The ceremony will also feature vibrant cultural performances. For the first time, a live broadcast of the Independence Day message by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav from Bhopal will be shown. For this, a sufficient number of large LED screens have been installed at the venue.

A total of 17 contingents from various departments will participate in the parade. These include the Border Security Force (BSF), RAPTC, 1st Battalion, 15th Battalion, District Police Force (Male), District Police Force (Female), Home Guards, Traffic Police, Scouts, Guides, Red Cross, RI Group, SPC, Srijan Dal, and Shaurya Dal. The parade will be led by RAPTC Deputy Superintendent of Police Niti Dandotiya, followed by TOIC Subedar Sonali Vaskale. The bands of the 1st Battalion and BSF will also be a major attraction.

Students from Garima Vidya Mandir, Government Excellence Bal Vinay Mandir, Government Sandipani Ahilya Ashram Girls Higher Secondary School No. 1, and Umiya Patidar Girls School will present cultural programs based on patriotic and folk songs. Awards will be given to officers and employees who have performed excellently during the year. Freedom fighters and democracy fighters will also be honored.

Events to be Held in Government Offices

On 15th August, at 9 AM, the flag hoisting will be held at the Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court by Administrative Judge Justice Vivek Rusia. Collector Ashish Singh will hoist the national flag at the Collector’s Office at 8 AM, and prior to that, he will hoist the flag at his residence. Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh will hoist the flag at various locations — at 6:45 AM at his residence, 7:15 AM at Residency Club, 7:45 AM at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office, and 8 AM at the Indore Development Authority Office. He will then attend the district’s main celebration at RAPTC Ground at 9 AM.

Flag Hoisting at BJP and Congress Offices

Flag hoisting ceremonies will also be held at the offices of the BJP and Congress in the morning. Similar events will be organized at the Municipal Corporation, IDA, and other major offices.

Programs at District, Janpad Panchayat, and Gram Panchayat Headquarters

At the district level, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, ministers, or the Collector will hoist the national flag, sing the national anthem, and take the parade salute. The General Administration Department has issued the district-wise list, as per which Collector Ashish Singh will hoist the flag in Indore. The Chief Minister’s message will be broadcast live from 9:25 AM to 9:55 AM from Bhopal to all districts, followed by a brief five-minute congratulatory message to be read by designated guests in each district.

At Janpad Panchayat headquarters, the Janpad President will formally hoist the flag, and the national anthem will be sung collectively. In municipal councils and municipalities whose headquarters are not at the block headquarters, the municipal chairperson will hoist the flag, and the national anthem will be sung. At Gram Panchayat headquarters, the Sarpanch will formally hoist the national flag, followed by the national anthem.

In all government offices and educational institutions, flag hoisting and national anthem programs will be organized at or before 8 AM, as in previous years. After that, cultural and literary programs will be held. Considering the weather, morning prabhat pheris (early morning processions) will be organized in all educational institutions. Schools and colleges will also hold sports events, skill demonstrations, inter-school and inter-college debates, talks by selected students on the importance of 15th August, and activities promoting national unity, small savings, population stabilization, cleanliness drives, and award/medal distribution.

Tree plantation programs will also be held with the necessary cooperation of the Forest Department. Group singing of national unity songs will be organized at the district, divisional, and state levels. Independence Day runs will be organized at district headquarters.

If loudspeakers are used to play music at various events, the songs should be tasteful and appropriate to the occasion. Freedom fighters, families of soldiers martyred in Kargil, and democracy fighters of the state should be invited with respect. Elderly freedom fighters will be honored at their homes by the District Collector or a designated representative with a shawl and coconut.
