Excellence in Gaushala Management: Challenges and ProspectsNew Delhi, 13 August 2025:

On the occasion of Independence Day 2025, a National Conference for Excellence in Gaushala Management on the theme “Bharat Khilta Kamal: Kamdhenu Initiative” was organized at the Constitution Club, New Delhi. This important event was inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister of State Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel. The objective of this conference organized by Maharishi Vashisht Gaushala Management and Research Council was to pay tribute to the freedom fighters and martyrs and discuss the current challenges and future prospects of Gaushala Management.

Experts, social workers, educationists, public representatives and representatives of various organizations working in the field of cow service from across the country were present in the conference. Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel said that there is an urgent need to focus on IVF techniques to ensure the birth of female calves and financially capable persons should come forward to establish new Gaushalas so that they can manage them smoothly with the interest of their savings. He also said that due to lack of land, serious challenges are arising in farmer families regarding cow rearing, whereas cow is very important for rural economy, organic farming and environmental protection.
In the conference, special emphasis was laid on the importance of cow, which was considered very important not only from religious but also from social and economic point of view. Along with this, the need to take appropriate policy steps to remove the obstacles coming in the protection of cows due to increasing impact of urbanization was also stressed.
Padma Shri Dr. Bharat Bhushan Tyagi, Shri Zubair Chaudhary MLA (Seelampur) Delhi, former Vice Chancellor Prof. KML were present in this national event. Pathak, CEO of Jupiter Hospital Dr. Avinash Rudraprakash, Sanskrit scholar Dr. Kamdev Jha, water activist Ms. Kamna Jha, poet Ms. Anubhuti Chaturvedi, filmmaker Mr. Sunil Tyal, CEO of Heera Sweets Mr. Mahesh Sharma, editor of “Connecting Business Achievers” Mr. Mustafa Ahmed Khan, director of the upcoming film “The Other Mother – Mathura Files” Mr. Onemo (Mandeep Singh) and many other eminent personalities were present on the occasion. Padma Shri Friederike Irina Bruning, who is called the “Mother Teresa of Cows”, was also present on the occasion.

Executive Director Mrs. Gayatri Vashisht, while highlighting the goals of the Parishad, said that the Parishad is working towards rural revitalization through campaigns like “Maharishi Gaushaktipeeth in every district”, “One Gaushala in every village”, “One Cow in every house” and “Ek Kyari, Gau Mata Ko Hamari”. He appealed to the Minister for full cooperation from the Central Government in this work, especially to connect the youth with Gaushala Management and Para-Vet training through skill development.

In the conference, Dr. Kamdev Jha mentioned the importance of cow in ancient texts, while Padmashree Dr. Bharat Bhushan Tyagi elaborated on the role of cow in organic farming and the principle of animal-human coexistence. Prof. K.M.L. Pathak emphasized the need to enhance the breeds of indigenous cows through modern IVF techniques.

The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Rama Bharti, National Head (Project Development), MVIGMRC. The program began with the soulful “Gau Mahima” Stuti composed by senior journalist Shri Om Nishant Pawar, which infused spiritual energy in the people present. Thus, this national conference proved to be a milestone in the field of cow service and conservation.
