ONE SNATCHER ARRESTED WITH ILLEGAL BUTTON-ACTIVATED KNIFE BY THE STAFF OF PS MANDAWALI, EAST DISTRICT

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -
As part of the ongoing drive to curb crime and enhance public safety, PS Mandawali staff were on heightened alert under the supervision of SHO / Mandawali and overall guidance of ACP/Mayur Vihar. Dedicated patrol teams were deployed to monitor and prevent unlawful activities.
On 10.08.2025 at about 01:00 PM, while patrolling in the Urja Vihar, Railway Phatak area, Ct. Suresh noticed a man on foot behaving suspiciously. On spotting the police, the individual attempted to flee. Acting swiftly, Ct. Suresh chased and apprehended him after a brief pursuit. A search of the suspect led to the recovery of one illegal button-actuated knife. He was identified as Abhishek, resident of Giri Marg, Mandawali, Delhi (Age 33 years). On interrogation, he confessed to carrying the weapon for use in committing snatchings and disclosed his involvement in 17 previous criminal cases. Accordingly, a case Fir No. 365/25 Dated. 10/08/2025 was registered U/s 25/54/59 Arms Act at PS Mandawali. Further investigation is ongoing.
 
PROFILE OF ACCUSED:  -
Abhishek R/o Giri Marg, Mandawali Delhi Age-33 Years.
  • He studied up to 8th standard and unemployed.
  • He has been previously involved in 17 criminal cases of snatching.
 
MOTIVE OF THE ACCUSED: -
During interrogation, accused Abhishek admitted that he carried the button-actuated knife to facilitate snatching incidents. He revealed that he is an alcoholic and driven by personal vices, often resorting to criminal activities to arrange quick money for his expenses. His past record of involvement in multiple snatching cases further reflects his continued intent to commit such offences.
 
RECOVERY: -
  • One button actuated knife.
