ACTIVE DESPERATE CRIMINAL ARRESTED; WANTED IN MURDER CASE OF PS JAHANGIRPURI

• ACCUSED WAS DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER.

• ACCUSED, ALONG WITH HIS ASSOCIATES, BRUTALLY MURDERED A PERSON IN JAHANGIRPURI AREA

INTRODUCTION:

The team of Insp. Krishan Kumar, AGS, Crime Branch, has arrested a desperate criminal, namely Rajan (31 years), S/o Jagmohan, R/o Hisar, Haryana, involved in a murder case of PS Jahangir Puri, registered vide FIR No. 390/2024 dated 17.07.2024, under Sections 103(1)/3(5)/118(1) BNS read with Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act. The accused was declared a proclaimed offender by the Hon’ble Court on 02.07.2025.

INCIDENT, INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:

As part of ongoing efforts to combat street crime in Delhi, the AGS team from the Crime Branch was tasked with apprehending active criminals, including infamous robbers, arms suppliers, and burglars.

A team from AGS/Crime Branch, led by Inspector Krishan Kumar and comprising SI Agam, SI Mukesh, SI Braj Lal, ASI Narender, ASI Mintu, HC Dharmraj, and HC Deepak, was constituted under the close supervision of ACP Bhagwati Prasad to develop information regarding the accused.

The team worked tirelessly on the case, gathering manual intelligence and maintaining technical surveillance on every activity connected to the accused, Rajan, who was wanted in a serious crime. Their persistent efforts yielded results on 11.08.2025, when a credible secret input was received regarding the movement of the accused. Acting swiftly on this tip-off, the team successfully traced and apprehended Rajan at Madhuban Chowk, Rohini, Delhi.

During sustained interrogation, the accused confessed to his involvement in the murder case of PS Jahangir Puri, registered vide FIR No. 390/2024 dated 17.07.2024, under Sections 103(1), 3(5), and 118(1) of the BNS, read with Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act.

INCIDENT:

The incident occurred on 16.07.2024, when accused Rajan, along with his two brothers-in-law Aman @ Bada Nata and Abhishek @ Chota Nata, and his second wife Arti, attacked the victim Bharat Yadav with knives and lathis. They brutally murdered him by stabbing him multiple times until he stopped breathing, despite his mother’s pleas to spare his life. They also injured the victim's mother during the attack. This heinous and brutal murder created a wave of fear and panic across Delhi and NCR.

Considering the sensitivity of the case, all special units, including the Crime Branch, Special Cell, and Special Staff, were tasked with arresting the accused involved in the crime. Three accused persons—Aman @ Bada Nata, Abhishek @ Chota Nata, and their sister Arti—were arrested by local police. However, the main accused Rajan remained absconding since the day of the incident.

The accused had been deliberately evading arrest, working various odd jobs to hide his identity and stay off police radar. Team AGS was assigned the task of tracing and arresting him. Informants were activated, and technical surveillance was carried out. The team made multiple visits to several states, including Hisar, Haryana and Hanuman garh, Rajasthan, but the accused managed to elude capture by avoiding electronic communication and frequently changing locations. He completely cut off all ties with his native village and even abandoned his first wife.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED:

The accused Rajan hails from Hisar, Haryana, and has four brothers. His father is employed in the Income Tax Department. Rajan was initially married to R, R/o Tarawadi, Karnal, Haryana, whom he later deserted. He relocated to EE Block, near Ice-Cream Factory, Jahangir puri, Delhi, and started selling clothes on the roadside. He later married A, a resident of Jahangir puri. His wife A has also arrested in this murder case also. His first wife has also filed a criminal case against him in Karnal, in which he is also absconding. Furthermore, his brother-in-law Aman @ Bada Nata has a previous involvement in an attempt to murder case registered at PS Jahangir puri. Further interrogation is underway.
