On the night intervening 08–09.08.25, a firing incident was reported at PS Nand Nagri.

Upon reaching the spot, the police team found that a person, identified as Kapil S/o Late Suresh, age 28 years, R/o Nand Nagri, had been shot by another person who fled the scene after the incident. The injured was taken to GTB Hospital, where he was declared ‘brought dead’ by the attending doctors.

Accordingly, a case under Section 103(1) BNS and Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act was registered at PS Nand Nagri, and investigation was taken up. Senior officers examined the crime scene, and forensic teams processed the spot and collected evidence.

During the investigation, a dedicated team led by SHO/Nand Nagri identified and arrested a suspect involved in the crime. He was identified as Shivam Yadav S/o Nanku Yadav, R/o Nand Nagri, Delhi, age 20 years. The weapon of offence, a country-made pistol, was recovered from his possession. During interrogation, the accused, Shivam, admitted to the crime and revealed that he had an old dispute with the deceased.

Further investigation in the matter is underway.
