In a significant breakthrough, during the intervening night of July 28-29, 2025, alert action by night patrolling staff led to the apprehension of four armed individuals, thereby preventing a potential criminal incident

INCIDENT: -
To effectively curb the crimes of snatching, robbery, and theft in the jurisdiction of PS Mandawali, the local police have intensified patrolling, picket checking, and other preventive measures under the close supervision of ATO/Mandawali and overall guidance of ACP/Mayur Vihar.
On the night of July 28-29, 2025 HC Pushpender, along with Ct. Dharmender and Vijender, was on night patrol duty near the Community Centre on Budha Marg, Mandawali. They noticed four suspicious individuals hiding behind parked vehicles. Upon being challenged, the suspects attempted to flee but were swiftly chased and apprehended by the patrolling team. One of the suspects, identified as Gurinder Singh (24), pulled out a pistol and aimed it at the police team. In a courageous act, HC Pushpender disarmed and overpowered him before the weapon could be fired. Two live cartridges were recovered from the pistol’s magazine.  Another accused, Balpreet Singh (22), was apprehended by CT Vijender and found to be carrying a country-made pistol loaded with one live cartridge. The remaining two suspects fled into the Community Centre but were swiftly cornered by CT Dharmender. Sachin Kumar (28) was found in possession of a live cartridge and a silver metal sword, while Pradeep Pandey (22) was carrying three live cartridges in his pocket. All four accused were taken into custody and the recovered illegal firearms, ammunition, and weapons have been seized.  A case vide FIR No. 356/25 under Sections 221/132 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and 25/27 of the Arms Act has been registered at PS Mandawali on the statement of HC Pushpender and investigation was taken up.

INTERROGATION: -
During interrogation, all the accused persons namely Gurinder Singh, Balpreet Singh, Sachin, and Pradeep Pandey voluntarily disclosed that they were facing financial difficulties due to unemployment and got involved in a criminal conspiracy to commit the murder of one Sunny, a resident of Mandawali, Delhi. The conspiracy was allegedly masterminded by a person named Amar, residing in Canada, who offered them a substantial amount of money to carry out the act.               The plan was coordinated by Gurinder Singh, who had received approximately ?2.5–3 lakhs from Amar through foreign channels while he was in Dubai. After returning to India, Gurinder along with his associates—Balpreet, Sachin, and Pradeep—travelled to Delhi on 26.07.2025. Upon arrival, they visited religious places, procured weapons including a sword and firearms, and stayed at a hotel in Laxmi Nagar. On 28.07.2025, they moved towards Mandawali to locate the target Sunny, but were apprehended by alert local police before any act could be committed. Illegal weapons, including a pistol, a country-made firearm, live cartridges, and a sword, were recovered from their possession. All accused have confessed their roles in the conspiracy and the possession of illegal arms. Efforts are being made to identify and apprehend the foreign-based handler and trace the money trail. Further investigation is underway. This successful operation reflects the East District Police's commitment to public safety and proactive crime prevention through vigilant policing and swift action.
