WANTED CRIMINAL IN EXCISE AND FORGERY CASE ARRESTED BY CRIME BRANCH, DELHI POLICE

In a major breakthrough, a team of the Inter-State Cell, Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri, Delhi Police has successfully apprehended a wanted criminal, who had been absconding and evading court proceedings in a case involving serious offences under the Delhi Excise Act and Indian Penal Code (IPC). The operation was conducted under the close supervision of ACP Ramesh Chander Lamba and the effective leadership of Inspector Satender Poonia.

KEY HIGHLIGHTS:

• One wanted criminal, absconding since initiation of court proceedings, arrested.

• Non-Bailable Warrants and proceedings under Section 82 Cr.P.C were pending against him.

• Accused was evading arrest and had absconded to his native village in Gujarat.

CASE DETAILS:

The accused, Vinu Singh resident of District Mehsana, Gujarat, was wanted in FIR No. 81/2017, under Sections 33/58 of the Delhi Excise Act, 2009 and Sections 468/471/482/34 IPC, registered at Police Station Crime Branch, Delhi. He had been evading court appearances, leading to issuance of Non-Bailable Warrants and initiation of proceedings under Section 82 Cr.P.C by the Hon’ble Court. The accused had absconded from his native place, posing a potential threat of future criminal activities.

THE OPERATIONS:

Based on credible inputs about the accused's movement, a dedicated team was constituted under the supervision of Inspector Satender Poonia and Inspector Sohan Lal, and overall guidance of ACP Ramesh Chander Lamba. The team comprised HC Ravinder and Ct. Amit Kumar.

On 14.07.2025, HC Ravinder received secret information indicating that Vinu Singh was hiding in District Mehsana, Gujarat. Acting swiftly, the team proceeded to Gujarat. After sustained efforts, the accused was successfully traced and apprehended on 15.07.2025 from PS Satlasna, District Mehsana, Gujarat.

Further legal proceedings are under way.
