THEFT CASE IN A TEMPLE OF BURARI AREA SOLVED : TWO ACCUSED INCLUDING RECEIVER OF STOLEN PROPERTY RECOVERED : COMPLETE STOLEN ARTICLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of two accused persons namely (1) Dalip Kumar r/o Swaroop Nagar, Delhi and receiver of stolen property (2) Rahees Malik r/o JJ Colony Shakarpur, Delhi, the staff of Police Station Burari, North District has solved a theft case committed in a temple in Burari area four days before. Complete stolen articles have been recovered.
 
INCIDENT:
On 27.07.2025, a PCR call regarding theft in Mahakali Shiv Mandir, Satya Vihar, Burari was received at PS Burari. The local police reached the spot where priest Kamal Shastri r/o B-Block, Kaushik Enclave, Burari reported that he is priest in Mahakali Shiv Mandir. On 27.07.25 at about 08:00 AM, after getting worship in the temple, he went to meet someone in South Delhi and when he returned back, he found that some unknown person has stolen some idols and worship articles of brass material from the temple. Accordingly, an e-FIR No. 80070124/25 was got registered u/s 305(d) BNS and the investigation was carried out.  
 
TEAM, INVESTIGATION & OPERATION:
Keeping in view the sensibility of the matter, a dedicated police team led by SI Ashok Meena, comprising HC Narender, HC Pradeep, HC Rahish, HC Rohtash and Ct Uttam was formed, under the close supervision of Inspr. Girish Chander, SHO/PS Burari and guidance of Shri Shashi Kant Gaur, ACP/Sub-Division Burari. 
 
During investigation, the team analysed CCTV footage nearby the place of incident and route taken by the accused person in which one suspicious person was seen entering and escaping from the temple along with some articles. The footage was shown to the secret informers and after sincere efforts of the police team, the suspicious person was identified as Dalip Kumar, r/o Swaroop Vihar, IP Colony, Delhi. 
 
Further, intensive search operation by mounting technical surveillance and human intelligence was put into swing to nab the accused person. Finally, with the help of secret sources, on 30.07.25, a raid was conducted at Kargil Colony, Burari and the suspect person Dalip Kumar, age 38 years was apprehended. 
 
INTERROGATION:
During interrogation, accused Dalip Kumar confessed that on 27.07.25 before noon, he was roaming in Satya Vihar area in search of a soft target during which he reached at a temple and noticed that nobody was there. He stole worship idols/articles from the temple and escaped. Then, he sold these articles to a scrap dealer (Kabadi) in the area of Jahangirpuri for Rs. 1000/- and spent the illegal earned money in consuming drugs and alcohol etc. Further, at his instance, the receiver identified as Rahees Malik, age 47 years was also apprehended on the same day and some Idols and other stolen worship articles were recovered from his shop.  
 
Further, investigation of the case is in progress. 
 
PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS:
1. Dalip Kumar, r/o Swaroop Vihar, IP Colony, Swaroop Nagar, Delhi, age 38 years belongs to Bihar. He is a school dropout and used to work as a labourer in a water cane supply shop, but he was not satisfied with his earnings, so he indulged in crime. He also addicted to alcohol and drugs. Previously he was found involved in 03 cases of Attempt to Murder, Robbery etc. of Police Stations Jahangirpuri and Swaroop Nagar, Delhi. 
2. Rahees Malik, r/o JJ Colony Shakarpur, Delhi, age 47 years. He is receiver of stolen property belongs to Amroha, Uttar Pradesh. He is a school dropout and runs a shop of kabari in Jahangirpuri, Delhi. 
 
RECOVERY:
• Complete stolen articles i.e. some idols and worship articles of brass.
