INTERSTATE DRUGS SYNDICATE BUSTED BY WR-I, CRIME BRANCH

A TOTAL OF 411 KG OF FINE QUALITY GANJA (MARIJUANA) SEIZED WITH TRUCK ASHOK LEYLAND AND NEXON CAR.
THE SEIZED GANJA (MARIJUANA) HAS AN ESTIMATED INTERNATIONAL MARKET VALUE OF APPROXIMATELY RS. 1.90 CRORE.

INTRODUCTION:

Under the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" (NMBA), the policy of 'zero tolerance' towards drugs is being rigorously enforced. The WR-I of the Crime Branch, Delhi, is dedicated to the eradication of drugs and has consistently emphasized taking stringent action against drug traffickers.

In line with this commitment, a team from the WR-I/Crime Branch, led by Insp. Sandeep Yadav, acted on recent intelligence. The information revealed that a drug syndicate, operated by Lokesh Bhardwaj, was actively trafficking illegal narcotics in the Delhi-NCR region. The team expanded on this lead through a network of confidential informants and detailed technical analysis, uncovering vital details about the syndicate’s operations. ASI Aditya Kumar groundwork and the technical support provided by HC Sandeep Yadav were instrumental in identifying key members, routes, and methods used by Lokesh Bhardwaj and his associates in their illegal activities.

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:

On 06.07.2025, a team lead by Insp. Sandeep Yadav comprising of ASI Aditya Kumar, ASI Suresh Kumar, HC Sandeep, HC Ram Niwas, HC Sudama & Ct. Vishal and under the supervision of Sh. Ajay Kumar, ACP/WR-I, Crime Branch, was constituted by DCP/Crime Branch, Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS to apprehend the drug peddler.

The team set up a trap near Nala, besides Golf Course, Golf course Raod, Sec-19 Dwarka. Based on the intelligence received one Truck Ashok Leyland and Nexon Car were intercepted there. The occupants of Ashok Leyland Truck and Nexon Car were apprehended, when they were unloading the Ganja from Truck and loading it into the Nexon Car. On the search of their vehicles, a total of 411 Kgs fine quality Ganja was recovered from the Ashok Leyland Trcuk and Nexon Car and 03 persons namely Lokesh Bhardwaj, Ashish Khasa @ Ashu and Moeen Khan were apprehended, when they were transforming Ganja from truck to Car.

Legal action for the recovery of huge consignment of Ganja was initiated. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 171/25 dated- 06.07.2025, U/s- 20 (B)(IIC)/25/29 NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime Branch, Delhi.

Further, during the course of investigation, on the instance of the accused persons, search of source of Contraband i.e. accused Srikant Prasad, a raid was conducted and he was arrested from Orissa on 10.07.2025 after long search by the team.

DETAILS OF ACCUSED PERSONS ARRESTED:

1. Lokesh Bhardwaj S/o Sh. Om Prakash Sharma R/o-Vill- Maheshwari,

Teh- Dharuhera, Distt- Rewari, Haryana, Age 27 years.

2. Ashish Khasa @ Ashu S/o Late Kaptan Singh R/o-Vill- Maheshwari, Teh-

Dharuhera, Distt- Rewari, Haryana, Age 20 years.

3. Moeen Khan S/o Mohd Taifiq Khan R/o-Vill- NijamPur, The- Tauru, Distt-

Nuh, Haryana, Age 24 yrs.

4. Srikant Prasad S/o Ramjatan R/o Vill- Rampur Daud, Distt. Gopalganj, Bihar, Age 33 years.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONs:-

1. Lokesh Bhardwaj is the resident of Vill Maheshwari, Teh- Dharuhera, Rewari, Haryana. He has wife and 02 children in his family. He completed his schooling from a reputed English medium school of the area. Accused taken admission in B. Com and had drop-out in 2nd year of B.Com. He started to work along with his father in his RO Water plant, but did not get the expected income and then to earn easy money he started to sell the Ganja in the area by bringing it from Orissa.

2. Ashish Khasa @ Ashu is also the resident of Vill Maheshwari, Teh- Dharuhera, Rewari, Haryana. His father died in 2024. He has mother and a sister in his family. Accused had studied up to 12th from Suraj School Rewari, a well reputed school. After the death of his father the economical condition of family deteriorated and therefore, he left the further studies. He is a close friend of Lokesh Bhardwaj. He started to work on a transport office of Naresh Sharma In Haryana. But he did not get the expected income and then to earn easy money, therefore on the instance of Lokesh Bhardwaj, he started to sell the Ganja in the area.

3. Moeen Khan is the resident of Nuh Haryana. He is a school drop-out from 5th class from Govt School, Nijampur. After school drop-out he started to work as Mechanic. Then after he become driver with Talim. He came in contact with the Ganja Suppliers and takes the truck on rent/contract and started to bring Ganja on the instance of the Ganja Suppliers in his truck.

4. Srikant Prasad is a resident of Gopalganj, Bihar. He is a school drop-out from 4th class from Govt School of his village. After school drop-out, he works in Punjba and Haryana and other states for earnings. His brother was arrested in 2011 for selling of Ganja in Delhi. Thereafter, he came in contacts with the Ganja suppliers through the contacts of his brother from Rohini Jail. He started to sell Ganja by bringing from Orissa. He was arrested in 2020 in a Ganja supply case of 2016 of Gopalganj, Bihar. After coming out from jail, he started to sell Ganja from Orissa to the various buyers from Delhi, Haryana and other states. He is presently residing in Orissa and keeps changing his locations in Orissa to evade his name from LEAs.

WR-I, Crime Branch has been continuously targeting local and interstate drug traffickers/peddlers, who are spreading drug menace amongst common people and therefore, previously also WR-I/Crime Branch had arrested the members of interstate drug syndicate and also the suppliers from Naxal area of Orissa.

Further investigation is being carried out in above mentioned case to unearth the whole forward and backward linkages.
