NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL WANTED IN FIRING CASE ARRESTED BY CENTRAL RANGE, CRIME BRANCH

OPERATION & ARREST:

In another breakthrough in the ongoing crackdown on wanted criminals, the Central Range team of the Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully arrested the absconding accused, Ajay Kumar @ Bhuri, from the New Delhi Railway Station area. The accused was wanted in a recent firing incident reported at PS Jyoti Nagar and was attempting to flee the capital.

On 17th July 2025, while SI Dinesh Kumar and HC Karamjeet were present at the Crime Branch office at Kamla Market, Delhi, specific intelligence was received from a secret informer. The informer revealed that Ajay Kumar @ Bhuri, S/o Sh. Richh Pal, R/o Uttaranchal Colony, Loni Dehat, Ghaziabad, UP — aged 36 years — is a notorious criminal operating along the Delhi-UP border. He was an absconding accused in a firing case being investigated by PS Jyoti Nagar. A Non-Bailable Warrant had already been issued against him.

Acting upon this information, a team comprising SI Dinesh, ASI Deepak, and HC Karamjeet proceeded to the spot. The operation was led by Insp.

Sunil Kalkhande under the supervision of Sh. Rajbir Malik, ACP/CR, Crime Branch.

Upon reaching New Delhi Railway Station, the accused was successfully apprehended by the team. He identified himself as Ajay Kumar @ Bhuri, S/o Sh. Richh Pal, R/o Uttaranchal Colony, Loni Dehat, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh – 201102, aged 36 years. He confessed to his involvement in the March 2025 firing incident in the Jyoti Nagar area.

Upon verification, it was confirmed that FIR No. 120/2025 under Sections 109(2)/238/3(5) BNS and 27 Arms Act had been registered against him at PS Jyoti Nagar, Delhi. It was also found that proceedings under Section 84 BNSS were already ongoing in the Hon’ble Court. He was arrested under Section 35(1)(B)(i) BNSS.

Intimation of his arrest has been sent to the Investigating Officer of PS Jyoti Nagar for further legal proceedings.
