INTER-STATE NARCO SYNDICATE BUSTED BY INTER-STATE CELL, CRIME BRANCH

? HIGH-VALUE SEIZURE: 1.5 KG ALPRAZOLAM WORTH ?30 LAKHS & 606 GRAMS HEROIN WORTH ?1.25 CRORE RECOVERED

? TWO ACCUSED DRUG TRAFFICKERS WITH CRIMINAL HISTORY ARRESTED

In a major success aligned with the “Zero Tolerance” policy against drug trafficking and the objectives of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the Inter State Cell of the Delhi Police Crime Branch has successfully dismantled a significant inter-state narco-syndicate involved in the manufacture and supply of heroin (smack) and Alprazolam. The crackdown led to the recovery of 1.5 kg Alprazolam and 606 grams Heroin, and arrest of two key operatives.

OPERATION HIGHLIGHTS: -

Syndicate Neutralized:

A well-organized narco-network operating across Bareilly and Rampur (UP) to Delhi-NCR and Punjab was uncovered and dismantled. Substantial Seizures:

• 1.5 kg Alprazolam (a heroin enhancer), valued at approx. ?30 lakhs

• 606 grams of Heroin, valued at approx. ?1.25 crores

INCIDENT DETAILS

On 28.06.2025, credible intelligence indicated that a known drug trafficker, Mahendra Pal, was to deliver a large consignment near Harijan Basti, Ghazipur, Delhi.

This operation followed sustained intelligence efforts led by Insp. Manmeet Malik, with initial leads developed by HC Sonu Tomar, and technical support by SI Vikas Solanki and SI Ritesh Kumar.

A dedicated team comprising SI Ritesh Kumar, SI Rajeev Kumar, ASI Krishan Pal, and HC Bijendra, under the supervision of Sh. Ramesh Chander, ACP/ISC, executed the arrest and seizure.

After due approval under the NDPS Act, a raid was conducted. Accused Mahendra Pal was apprehended near Sapera Bhoomi, and the following were recovered:

• 1.543 kg Alprazolam

• 296 grams Heroin

Accordingly, a case was registered vide FIR No. 162/25 dated

28.06.2025 u/s 21/22/29 NDPS Act, PS Crime Branch.

FOLLOW-UP INVESTIGATION & SECOND ARREST

Interrogation of Mahendra Pal revealed:

• Alprazolam is used to enhance heroin potency.

• He procured Alprazolam from Rampur and heroin from Bareilly, and was supplying it to Delhi and Punjab.

On 11.07.2025, based on leads from Mahendra, Natthu Khan, supplier of heroin, was arrested in Faridpur, Bareilly. On his instance, 310 grams heroin was recovered. Efforts are being made to arrest the source/ suppliers of recovered narcotic substances.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED

1. Mahendra Pal (50 years) o Resident: Faridpur, Bareilly, UP o Education: 10th pass o Initially supplied Alprazolam to heroin manufacturers, later developed his own network.

2. Natthu Khan (60 years) o Resident: Faridpur, Bareilly, UP o Previously arrested in three cases, including NDPS Act.

o His brother held an opium agriculture license, which was misused for heroin production.

Further investigation is in progress.
