TWO NOTORIOUS INTERSTATE MEWATI ATM CUTTERS, NAMELY SAZID & ADIL, ARRESTED AFTER A BRIEF EXCHAGE OF FIRE.

• ADIL ALSO WANTED/INVOLVED IN SIMILLAR CASES IN GUJARAT AND WEST BENGAL.

• TWO SEMI AUTOMATIC LOADED PISTOLS RECOVERED.

• CASH Rs. 48,500/- LOOTED 2 DAYS BACK IN AN ATM BREAK FROM SILIGURI, WEST BENGAL, RECOVERED.

A team of Special Cell/New Delhi Range led by Inspr. Sanjay Gupta and Inspr. Pankaj Chauhan under the close of supervision of ACsP Sh. Hridhya Bhushan and Shri Rahul Vikram has arrested two members of an interstate gang of Mewat-based ATM robbers after a brief exchange of fire near Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Pusta road on 24.07.2025 at about 10 PM. A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Special Cell in this regard.

Accused Sazid was wanted in seven states in close to a dozen cases of breaking and uprooting of ATMs, whereas accused Adil was also wanted/involved in similar cases in two states.

Two days back, both the accused persons have also looted through breaking of one SBI ATM in Siliguri, West Bengal i.e. in the intervening night of 22/23.07.2025.

INFORMATION AND OPERATION:

Apart from terrorism, hard-core gangsters, organised crime and other heinous offences Special Cell also works on different Mewat based gangsters including those involved in ATM robberies. In the month of January, 2025, one Mewat based criminal, namely Jamshed @Jamsher was arrested by this team of Special Cell and one sophisticated pistol was recovered from him. Jamshed @ Jamsher was wanted in the murder of one HC Yashpal, of Delhi Police. HC Yashpal was killed when he tried to intercept them during cow theft in the area of PS Baba Haridas Nagar in 2012. During interrogation, Jamshed @ Jamsher had disclosed the source of weapon as Sazid and also revealed that Sazid and his associates were involved and wanted in multiple ATM robberies of different states.

Since then, the team was collecting information about Sazid and his associates and also camped in the area of Mewat region. It was learnt that Sazid along with his Mewat based associates used to go to different states by truck. They carry the tools including cylinder for cutting the ATM in the truck. Upon reaching their target destination, they would steal a vehicle for committing ATM robbery and conduct reccee of the area for identifying some unguarded ATM kiosk. After robbery, they would abandon the vehicle and then disperse and return to their base by different modes/routes.

Information was developed in respect of movement of Sazid and his associates. The untiring six-months long efforts of the team yielded result, when on 24.07.2025, a specific information was received that Sazid and his associates are planning another ATM breaking in Delhi and they would assemble in Madanpur Khadar during late night hours. Information was further developed about the exact assembling point of the accused persons and it was learnt that Sazid along with one of his associates would go to Madanpur Khadar via Jaitpur-Kalindi Kunj Pusta road on a motor cycle. A team of Special Cell, consisting of SI Rahul Sagar, SI Ashok Sharma, ASI Ranjeet, HC Dharmender, HC Asif, HC Arif and others laid a trap in the area. At about 10 PM, the informer identified two motor cycle borne persons as Sazid and Adil. Police team flagged them to stop, but they sped up and tried to flee. Pillion rider opened fire on Police team. Police team chased them and asked them to surrender and opened fire in self defence. On this, their motor cycle got skid and they fell down. Police team again asked them to surrender, but instead of surrendering, both the accused persons tried to flee and again started firing on Police team. Police team retaliated in self-defence, in which both the accused persons namely Sazid, 23 years R/o Village Nangla Utawad, District Mathura, UP and Adil Khan, 27 years R/o Village Azizabad, District Palwal, HR received bullet injuries in their legs. Both were overpowered and shifted to a hospital for treatment. The recovered motor cycle Bajaj Pulsar was found stolen from PS Gandhi Nagar area.

RECOVERY:

1. Two loaded .32 bore Pistols containing 03 & 02 live cartridges.

2. Empty cartridges from the spot.

3. One stolen motor cycle

4. Total Rs. 48,500/- recently looted money from SBI ATM breaking at Siliguri, West Bengal.

PROFILE OF SAZID:

Accused Sazid is 23 years old and 7th pass. During interrogation, he revealed that earlier he was arrested by MP, Maharashtra and Punjab Police in ATM robberies. When his associates were arrested by Mathura Police in ATM robbery case and disclosed his name, he shifted from Mathura to Nuh. Accused Sazid is presently wanted/involved in cases of ATM loot of UP, MP, Maharashtra, Punjab and West Bengal.

PROFILE OF ADIL

Accused Adil is 27 years old and 7th pass. During interrogation, he revealed that he is also involved in ATM robberies. In 2024, he along with associates committed an SBI Bank ATM loot in Gujarat and is wanted in this case. He also disclosed his involvement in the recent ATM breaking of Siliguri, West Bengal.

Further investigation is underway.
