ONE INTERSTATE SYNDICATE OF PSYCHOTROPIC MEDICINES SUPPLIERS BUSTED BY CRIME BRANCH

INTRODUCTION:

The team of WR-II/Crime Branch has busted an interstate supply chain of prohibited psychotropic medicines with the recovery of 2160 Tramadol Capsules. Three persons have been arrested so far from Delhi and Gorakhpur, UP.

INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:

In line with the zero-tolerance policy of Crime Branch against NDPS, the team of WR-II, Crime Branch, has been keeping a close watch on the drug dealers in the Delhi. On 01/06/2025, a secret information was received by HC Sandeep & HC Vinod that one Harish, who supplies prohibited psychotropic medicines in the guise of selling ayurvedic medicines is coming to deliver Tramadol capsules near Tis Hajari courts and he could be apprehended if a trap is laid in time.

Accordingly, sensing the gravity and nature of the crime, a team from WR-II, Crime Branch, led by Insp. Akshay Gahlaut, SI Manoj Kumar Meena, HC Sandeep Kadiyan, HC Sandeep, HC Sushil, HC Mayank, HC Hardeep, HC Naveen, HC Dinesh and W/Ct Monika under the supervision of ACP/WR-II, Sh. Raj Pal Dabas, was constituted by the worthy DCP/Crime Branch, Sh. Harish Indora, IPS to nab the criminal.

The aforesaid team laid a trap near Tis Hajari court complex, Delhi and apprehended one Harish s/o Ram Narayan r/o Shahdara, Delhi age 55 yrs with 2160 Capsules of Prohibited Tramadol Capsules.

The team was tasked by senior officers to bust the whole supply chain and further investigation led the team to Bhagirath Palace Market of Delhi and to Bhalotia Market, Gorakhpur which is famous wholesale hub of medicines in eastern UP.

The team arrested Gautam Singh, who operates a small shop in Bhagirath Palace, Delhi and Amit Goyal, a shop medicine shop owner from Bhalotia Market, Gorakhpur. Further investigation is still on and crime branch is dedicatedly working to unearth the whole supply chain.

INTERROGATION:

During the course of interrogation, accused Harish Khurana disclosed that he has been working in the field of supply of medicines since 1990 and he has been arrested twice in similar NDPS cases twice and after getting out of prison in 2024, he opened a small shop in Bhagirath Palace, Delhi and started to sell ayurvedic medicines. For making more money, he started to procure prohibited medicines from One Gautam Singh, who also works in Bhagirath Palace, Delhi.

On interrogation, Gautam Singh disclosed that he started as a packer of medicines outside Bhagirath Palace and after a few years struggle, he opened a small shop and started to sell over the counter medicines and cosmetic etc. at whole sale price. He came in touch with one Amit Goyal of Gorakhpur who started to supply him Tramadol capsules, which he sold at good margin to Harish Khurana.

On interrogation, Amit Goyal disclosed that he has been selling medicines at famous Bhalotia Market, Gorakhpur and used to supply medicines at whole sale price to Gautam Singh. He was asked by Gautam Singh to arrange Tramadol. As the profit in supplying these prohibited medicines is good, he arranged the medicines and started to supply the same to Gautam Singh through courier, concealed as normal package.
