NOTORIOUS ROBBER NABBED BY THE PS SHAKARPUR TEAM; THREE MOBILE PHONES AND WEAPON RECOVERED

? In a swift and effective operation, the team of PS Shakarpur, East District, apprehended a notorious robber involved in a recent robbery case.
? Accused was found in possession of three mobile phones, one of which was linked to a recently reported theft case.
? A sharp-edged kitchen knife, used to commit the crime, was also recovered.
? The accused specifically targets individuals in isolated or low-footfall areas to carry out the crimes with minimal risk of detection.
 
INCIDENT: - 
     On 14.07.2025 at around 08:00 PM, a PCR call was received at PS Shakarpur regarding the snatching of a mobile phone near Geeta Colony Cut, Vikas Marg. The complainant, Chanchal Kumar R/o Uttam Nagar, reported that while attending a phone call on the roadside during his commute on bike no. DL14SK XXXX, an unknown assailant emerged from the nearby forest area, threatened him with a knife, and robbed his mobile phone before fleeing into the forest. Based on his complaint, FIR No. 211/25, under Section 309(4)/311 BNS, was registered at PS Shakarpur and further investigation was initiated.
INVESTIGATION: -
         Acting swiftly on credible information and recognizing the gravity of the incident, a dedicated team was constituted under the supervision of SHO/Shakarpur. The team immediately launched a series of coordinated raids at multiple locations. The team successfully traced and apprehended the accused Mohd. Talib age 22 Years. Upon frisking, three mobile phones were recovered from his possession. One of the phones was immediately identified by the complainant as the one robbed from him. Another phone was linked to E-FIR No. 80066135/25, PS Shakarpur, dated 14.07.2025. The ownership of the third device is currently being verified. A kitchen knife, believed to have been used in the robbery, was also recovered. The accused is a habitual offender with a known criminal history. He was previously arrested in FIR No. 66/2025 under Sections 309(4)/317(2) BNS at PS Shakarpur and was recently released on bail, after which he resumed his involvement in criminal activities in the area. Further investigation into the matter is underway.

? Mohd. Talib R/o Laxmi Nagar, Delhi, Age: 22 Years.
? He studied up to 8th standard and works as painter.
? He has been previously involved in three criminal cases.

MOTIVE OF THE ACCUSED: -
     During sustained interrogation, the accused Mohd. Talib revealed that his primary motive was to earn quick and easy money by targeting unsuspecting individuals in isolated or low-traffic areas. He admitted that financial greed and a desire for a lavish lifestyle led him to repeatedly commit robberies and thefts. He believed that selecting victims in less crowded spots reduced the chances of being caught and allowed him to escape swiftly after the act.
