A NOTORIOUS CRIMINAL ASCONDING AFTER COMMITING THE MURDER OF A 26 YEARS YOUTH IN BURARI ARRESTED BY CRIME BRANCH

• With the arrest of Arun Dedha, 32 Years old, a team of Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Cell of Crime Branch solved a sensational murder case reported at PS Burari on 26.06.2025.

• Deceased was going to celebrate his 27th Birthday on next day of the incident. 

• Accused was absconding after committing the crime. 

• He is a notorious criminal and already involved in 8 criminal cases of attempt to murder, trespassing, disobey of lawful direction, hurt, Arms Act etc. 

 

  A team of Anti-Extortion & Kidnapping Cell, Crime Branch arrested a notorious criminal namely Arun Dedha, 32 Years, who committed murder of one Ajeet Kumar Tripathi, 26 Years by shooting him, just before a day of his Birthday, in the area of PS Burari on 25.06.2025. 

 

INCIDENT –

 

  On 25.06.2025 at around 9.00 PM, Ajeet Kumar Tripathi, 26 Years, a resident of Kaushik Enclave, Burari was leaving to his house from his office situated in the parking of Hoover’s Apartments, Burari along with his employer Rakesh Kumar and a security guard.  In the meantime, one Arun Dedha, who lived at first floor of Hoover’s Apartment in a rented accommodation, was under the influence of liquor and started hurling abuses to them. The owner of his flat namely Sh. Chetan Chawla also tried to pacify him but he did not mend his way.  When, Ajeet Kumar Tripathi went to him to know the reason for hurling abuses to them, he whipped out a pistol and pointed towards Ajeet Kumar Tripathi and fired upon him.  Thereafter, Arun fled away from there. Ajeet Kumar Tripathi was brought to Burari Hospital where he was declared brought dead.  A case of murder was reported at PS Burari vide FIR No. 565/2025, dated 26.06.2025, u/s 103(1) BNS & 25/27 Arms Act. 

 

This incident became the headlines of the news and published widely on social media as just next day of the incident, deceased Ajeet Kumar Tripathi was going to celebrate his 27th Birthday, but he was murdered just one day before his Birthday.  The whole family of deceased Ajeet Kumar Tripathi went into a great shock. 

 

 

OPERATION AND ARREST –

 

On the intervening night of 04.07.2025, ASI Rajiv Kumar, Anti-Extortion & Kidnapping Cell, Crime Branch received a secret information about the hideout of a criminal wanted in a murder of case PS Burari, Delhi reported in the last week of June, 2026.  He was already cognizant of the incident being published widely on social media platforms as well as became the headlines of the print media.  It was also confirmed that the accused wanted in the said case is still absconding and evading his arrest. Accordingly, on the directions of senior officers, a raiding team was constituted headed by SI Vikas Kumar, ASI Rajiv Kumar, HC Amit Kumar and HC Mukesh Kumar for carrying out an operation under the supervision of Inspr. Priyanka and Sh. Pankaj Arora, ACP/AKEC/Crime and overall supervision of Sh. Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, IPS, Dy. Commissioner of Police, Crime-I (HQ) to nab him. 

 

  Based on the information, the above team laid a trap around in and open parking situated along Kasna – Delhi Road, near Tilpata Chowk, Dadri, UP at around 3.00 AM and started combing operation nab wanted criminal.  On seeing the Police Team, he started running away.  He was chased and apprehended by the team. On interrogation he disclosed his identity as Arun Dedha, 32 Years, a resident of Village Gamri, North East, Delhi and further admitted to have committed the murder of Ajeet Kumar Tripathi on 25.06.2025 at Hoover’s Apartment, Burari. 

 

Accordingly, the above accused Arun Dedha has been arrested under the provision of Sec. 35(1) BNNS, PS Crime Branch. 

 

Accused Arun Dedha, 32 Years, is a residing of Village Gamri, North East District, Delhi.  He is a notorious criminal and already involved in 8 criminal cases of attempt to murder, trespassing, hurt, disobey of lawful direction, Arms Act etc.   He is married and has two minor children.  Due to his indulgence in criminal activities, his wife has been living separately at his parents’ home for the last four years. Therefore, he was also living separately in a rented accommodation in Hoover’s Apartment, Burari, Delhi for the last 6/7 months.
