ONE DESPERATE WANTED CRIMINAL & PROCLAIMED OFFENDER IN ARMED ROBBERY CASE ARRESTED BY ISC, CRIME BRANCH, CHANAKYAPURI, NEW DELHI

A notorious criminal and proclaimed offender (PO) involved in a violent armed robbery case has been apprehended by a team of ISC, Crime Branch, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi.
Key Highlights:
• The accused was declared an absconder/PO in a robbery case registered at PS Mahendra Park.
• He committed the crime with an associate (one CCL) and was evading arrest since 2020.
• He was intentionally hiding to avoid arrest and had a long history of serious criminal cases.
The Incident:
On 02.07.2020, two assailants violently attacked a man, Anil Kumar, in the area of PS Mahendra Park and robbed him of his mobile phone. The victim sustained injuries during the attack.
A case was registered under FIR No. 411/2020, U/s 392/394/34 IPC at PS Mahendra Park. One of the accused, Pankaj @ Pankha (37), R/o Jahangirpuri, Delhi, was later declared a Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble Court vide order dated 30.06.2025.
The Operation:
In light of the threat of further crimes, a dedicated team under the leadership of Inspector Satender Poonia, ISC, Crime Branch, was assigned to trace and apprehend the absconding criminal.
On 03.07.2025, Constable Amit (1498/Crime) received credible intelligence that the absconder was hiding in Azadpur Mandi, Delhi.
 
Acting swiftly, a team comprising SI Sanjay Kanojia (D-2088), SI Mukesh (D-2996), ASI Vinay (276/Crime), HC Ashish (576/Crime), HC Ravinder (1517/Crime), and Ct. Ravi (1397/Crime) was formed under the supervision of Insp. Satender Poonia and overall guidance of Shri Ramesh Chandra Lamba, ACP/ISC.Using human intelligence and sustained surveillance, the team successfully apprehended Pankaj @ Pankha from Adarsh Nagar, Delhi.
Interrogation & Modus Operandi:
During interrogation, the accused confessed to having committed the robbery along with his associate (one CCL), intentionally injuring the victim. He admitted to deliberately evading arrest and had been hiding to avoid legal consequences.

• Name: Pankaj @ Pankha
• Age: 37
• Address: R/o Jahangirpuri, Delhi
• Background: Illiterate, lives with wife and children, belongs to a poor background, and fell into criminal company early in life.
• Criminal History: Involved in multiple heinous offences including murder, armed robbery, arms possession, and theft.
