TWO NOTORIOUS AUTOLIFTERS & SNATCHERS NABBED BY THE STAFF OF PS GHAZIPUR, EAST DISTRICT.

? Stolen Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle, snatched mobile phone & knife recovered

? Accused linked to 16 past criminal cases

? Five recent cases solved with their arrest

? The accused used stolen vehicles for further criminal activity

INCIDENT & INVESTIGATION: -

On 18.06.2025, a complaint regarding the theft of a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle was lodged. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 16802/25, u/s 305(b) BNS PS Gazipur has been registered and investigation was taken up.

Following a spike in vehicle thefts in the Ghazipur area, a dedicated team was constituted under the leadership of SHO/Inspector Nirmal Kumar Jha and overall supervision of ACP/Madhu Vihar Sh. Tilak Chand Bist. The team comprised HC Dinesh Kumar, HC Jitender Nagar, HC Arvind Kumar, HC Monu, and Ct. Ajay. The team promptly reviewed CCTV footage from the scene and identified the suspects. Acting on a tip-off, the accused were apprehended from the Paper Market area of Ghazipur along with the stolen motorcycle. During a search, a knife was recovered from Imran Khan, who admitted to carrying it for threatening victims during the commission of crimes. Upon sustained interrogation, both accused confessed to their involvement in multiple cases of auto-lifting and snatching in the area. Further investigation of the case is in progress.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED: -

(1) Imran Khan @ Raja Babu R/o Mayur Vihar Phase – III, Delhi Age – 30 Years

Education – 12th Pass

Occupation: Former CCTV mechanic

Addictions: Smack user

Involvements: - He has been involved in total 11 criminal cases.

(2) Abhishek R/o Mayur Vihar Phase – III, Delhi Age – 28 Years

Education – Graduate.

Occupation: Former salesman at a Noida-based watch showroom

Addictions: Smack user

Involvements: - He has been involved in total 5 criminal cases.

RECOVERY: -

1. One stolen Motorcycle

2. One snatched mobile phone

3. A Knife.

MODUS OPERANDI: -

The duo operated mostly during late hours in low-surveillance zones. They:

• Targeted unattended motorcycles parked in poorly lit areas.

• Used stolen motorcycles for swift getaways during snatching.

• Imran Khan carried a knife to intimidate victims during resistance.

• Stolen items were either used in further crimes or sold through local networks to avoid detection.

• Both accused are addicted to smack and admitted that the proceeds from these crimes were used to sustain their drug habits.

APPEAL TO THE PUBLIC:

The East District Police urges the public to remain vigilant and adopt the following precautions to avoid being targeted:

* Always park vehicles in well-lit, secure areas and use anti-theft devices.

* Install handle locks, wheel locks, and GPS trackers on two-wheelers.

* Be cautious while using mobile phones in public—especially in isolated or poorly lit locations.

* Immediately report any suspicious activity or individuals to the nearest police station.

* In case of emergency, dial 112 for prompt assistance.
