Yesterday morning, many residents of East Delhi belonging to the Purvanchal community met Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva under the leadership of Bihar Jagran Manch patron and NDMC member Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh. They informed him that in 2020, the Arvind Kejriwal government had closed the Chhath Puja Ghat located under the pontoon bridge near Yamuna Bank Metro Station. The members of Bihar Jagran Manch requested Shri Virendra Sachdeva to help reopen this Chhath Ghat.

The Delhi BJP President immediately spoke with local officials, obtained permission for the reconstruction of the ghat, and started the construction work using JCB machines.

This morning, Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva personally visited the under-construction Chhath Ghat beneath the Yamuna Bank Metro Station, participated in the cleaning drive, and said that by building this ghat, the aspirations of the Bihar community living in nearby areas like Laxmi Nagar and Pandav Nagar have been fulfilled.

He added that while the Kejriwal government used to obstruct religious and cultural festivals, the BJP government led by Mrs. Rekha Gupta is promoting celebrations filled with joy and enthusiasm among the people.

Accompanying Shri Sachdeva were NDMC member Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh, MLA Shri Abhay Verma, Shahdara District BJP President Shri Deepak Gaba, Delhi BJP Purvanchal Morcha President Shri Santosh Ojha, Councilor Shri Sandeep Kapoor, Mrs. Neelam Neetu Chaudhary, Shri Ramkishore Sharma, and a large number of Bihar Jagran Manch members who participated in the cleanliness drive at the ghat.

Shri Dinesh Pratap Singh expressed that the Purvanchal community and Bihar Jagran Manch of East Delhi are thankful to Delhi BJP President and the Delhi Government for reopening the Chhath Ghat near Yamuna Bank Metro Station.
