Second day of 'LAP-GYN Synergy 2025' on 22/06/25 In a pioneering initiative for healthcare education and surgical innovation in the district, Government Medical College Datia hosted a live laparoscopic gynecological surgery under the 'LAP- GYN Synergy 2025' programme. This is the first of its kind event for the medical college, underlining the institution's commitment to state-of-the-art medical training and patient care.

This live was an unprecedented opportunity for medical students, resident doctors and practicing surgeons to witness complex laparoscopic gynecological procedures being performed by expert surgeons in real time. This interactive learning experience aims to enhance surgical skills, improve understanding of minimally invasive techniques and foster a collaborative environment for medical professionals.

Dr Deepak S Marawi, Dean, Government Medical College Datia said, “We are incredibly excited to bring this innovative educational experience to GMC Datia. This live streaming of laparoscopic gynecological surgery is a significant milestone for our institution. It not only provided invaluable learning opportunities for our students and faculty but also showcased the advanced capabilities we are developing in minimally invasive surgery.”

Dr Shweta Yadav, Head, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, GMC Datia said that laparoscopic surgery, a modern surgical technique, involves operations through small incisions with the help of a camera, giving patients less pain, shorter hospital stay and faster recovery. While in open surgical techniques, the patient gets a large scar and has to stay in the hospital for a longer period of time. They face complications like wound infection, wound dehiscence. By live streaming laparoscopic surgery procedures, GMC Datia aims to simplify complex surgeries and promote the adoption of advanced techniques in the wider medical community.

During this program, operations were done for infertility, abdominal lump, uterine problems. Along with this, a patient whose Copper-T was inserted twelve years ago and which had gone into the stomach was also removed by laparoscopic surgery.

During this event, the surgical team of Dr. Shweta Yadav included Dr. Shambhavi Soni, Dr. Himashi, Dr. Rubina, Dr. Pratiksha, Dr. Anju, Dr. Aayushi, Dr. Ekta, Dr. Shailaja, Dr. Namrata, anesthesia team led by Dr. Bharat Verma, Dr. Umesh Patel, Dr. Samarth, Dr. Pallavi, Dr. Yogesh, Dr. Vishal, Dr. Namrata, Dr. Hitendra, Nursing Officer Neha, Sema, Anjali, Nidhi, Parvati. Dr. Sachin Singh Yadav, Associate Medical Superintendent of the hospital cooperated in the successful organization of LAP-SYN Synergy 2025.

About 50 participants from various medical colleges watched its live telecast. At the end of the program, a quiz was organized for the participants in which Dr. Abhisha got the first place, Dr. Himanshi Rai got the second place and Dr. Shambhavi Soni got the third place
