Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought guidance on various issues related to the development of Uttarakhand.

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for its cooperation in the development of the state and said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Uttarakhand is ready to play its effective role in the vision of Developed India 2047.

The Chief Minister said that all Indians are proud that 27 countries of the world have conferred the highest civilian honor of their country on the Prime Minister. The Chief Minister presented the Prime Minister with a replica of Kartik Swami Temple and a coffee table book on Adi Kailash Yatra along with Uttarakhand products Kanar (Dharchula) ghee, red (Purola) rice, Basmati rice, black cumin, Gandh Rain, Jambu and local honey.

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to direct the concerned for funding through CSR for infrastructure development in accordance with the master plan of Haridwar Ganga Corridor, Rishikesh Ganga Corridor and Sharda Corridor in Champawat, just like Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham.

The Chief Minister requested the Prime Minister to set up semi-conductor industries to develop Nepa Farm in Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand as a semi-conductor hub, extend the Regional Rapid Transit System between Delhi and Meerut to Haridwar and direct the concerned ministries to include provision for road construction in Tanakpur-Bageshwar and Rishikesh-Uttarkashi rail projects.

The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the Nanda Raj Jat Yatra to be held in Uttarakhand in the year 2026 and said that extensive environment-friendly infrastructure facilities have to be developed for its operation. The Chief Minister invited the Prime Minister for this mountainous Maha Kumbh Nanda Raj Jat Yatra to be held in August 2026 and also requested the Center to provide an amount of Rs 400 crore to ensure infrastructure facilities in the Yatra.

The Chief Minister said that a divine and grand Maha Kumbh is to be organized in Haridwar in the year 2027. Preparations for this have been started by the state government. For its successful organization, other works including repair of bridges, parking, electricity, drinking water, toilets, transportation, footpaths for devotees are to be done in Haridwar. The Chief Minister requested financial assistance of Rs 3500 crore for this. The Chief Minister also requested to direct the concerned to approve the DPR of Rs 1015 crore sent by the Uttarakhand government for undergrounding the HT and LT power lines in Rishikesh and Haridwar cities as well as automating the power system under the RDSS scheme.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is making efforts to restore the unique heritage Chaurasi Kutia, located near Rishikesh, to its old form. The required funds have also been arranged for this. The Chief Minister requested for the approval of the proposal of Chaurasi Kutia from the National Wildlife Board.

The Chief Minister said that a preliminary proposal of the Pindar-Kosi Link Project has been prepared in the first phase to connect the snow-based rivers with the rain-based rivers. If the water of the glacier-based Pindar river is mixed with the rain-based Kosi, Gagas, Gomti and Garud rivers, then about 2 lakh population of 625 villages of Bageshwar, Almora and Nainital districts will be benefited by drinking water and irrigation. Along with this, the drinking water supply will be improved for about 1.25 lakh population of Garud, Kausani, Dwarahat, Ranikhet and Almora towns. The Chief Minister requested to take this project under the special scheme of the Government of India.

The Chief Minister also urged the Prime Minister to grant permission for the development of five hydropower projects of a total capacity of 596 MW in line with the recommendations of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary, Government of India.

The Prime Minister took detailed information from the Chief Minister about the Chardham Yatra, Adi Kailash Yatra, Nanda Rajjat Yatra, Kumbh to be held in Haridwar as well as Jal Jeevan Mission in the state.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi assured Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami of all possible cooperation from the Central Government for the development of Uttarakhand.
