Collector suspended the secretary of Gram Panchayat Ranni and instituted a departmental inquiry

Jhabua Collector Neha Meena, on receiving an application in the public hearing, suspended the Panchayat Secretary Mohan Katara of Gram Panchayat Ranni, Janpad Panchayat Thandla with immediate effect under the provision of clause (7) of Madhya Pradesh, Panchayat Service (Gram Panchayat Secretary Recruitment and Service Conditions) Rules 2011, for not providing the benefits of the scheme to the eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, demanding money inappropriately and acting contrary to his official responsibilities and duties. In the public hearing, applicant Smt. Kukdi, wife of Deva Katara, resident of village Ranni, Tehsil Thandla, submitted an application and informed that the Panchayat Secretary of Gram Panchayat Ranni was demanding an unreasonable amount for providing the benefit of housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, applicant Mansingh, son of Thavra Maliwad, village Kalaaliya Khalee, submitted an application and informed that the name will be removed from the housing list if the bribe amount of Rs. 5000/- demanded by the Panchayat Secretary is not paid, applicant Kodar, son of Shambhu Katara, resident of village Kalaaliya Khalee submitted an application and informed that the third installment of the housing scheme was not deposited by the Panchayat Secretary, applicant Laxman, son of Madia Dindor, resident of village Kalaaliya Khalee did not transfer the amount of housing scheme despite his name being in the housing list and applicant Ralji, son of Kanji Katara, resident of village Ranni, informed that the amount was not deposited in the account despite his name being in the housing list and the house being allotted. The Collector took the above action. During the suspension period, the headquarters of Katara was fixed as Chief Executive Officer, District Panchayat Thandla. Katara will remain eligible for suspension allowance as per rules during the suspension period.
