The NSS Unit of Mata Sundri College for Women, hosted annual fest SAAHAS successfully.

Parivartan, The NSS Unit of Mata Sundri College for Women, University of Delhi hosted its much-anticipated annual fest “SAAHAS” on 16th April 2025 with great enthusiasm and vibrancy. The fest was a beautiful amalgamation of celebration, reflection, inspiration and community engagement.
The event unfolded as a vibrant celebration of talent, inspiration and social awareness rooted in the ethos of NSS and its vision of selfless service. From soulful performances to powerful discussions, every segment of SAAHAS reflected the core values that Parivartan upholds.
The day commenced on a spiritually uplifting note with a soulful Kirtan filling the atmosphere with serenity and devotion. The melodious voices and rhythmic chants set a peaceful and reflective tone for the day’s events reminding everyone of the importance of mindfulness and gratitude in the journey of service.
Following this, the audience was treated to a graceful classical dance performance which mesmerized everyone with its elegance and poise. The performance deeply rooted in Indian culture and tradition, beautifully conveyed stories through expressive gestures and fluid movements, leaving the audience enthralled.
The inaugural session began with the felicitation of the esteemed Chief Guests – Ms. Swati Maliwal renowned activist and former Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, and Dr. Tanu Jain, a motivational speaker and civil servant known for her inspiring journey. They were warmly welcomed and honored by our respected Principal, Prof. Harpreet Kaur and the Programme Officer of NSS Dr. Uzma Nadeem.
In their addresses both dignitaries delivered empowering and thought-provoking speeches,sharing their personal journeys, professional experiences and passionate insights on the importance of youth participation in social change. Their words struck a chord with the audience, motivating the students to continue working with sincerity and compassion in all spheres of life.
Prof. Harpreet Kaur our principal also took to the stage to offer words of encouragement and praise for the tireless efforts of the NSS team. She emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering responsible citizenship and applauded the spirit of the NSS. Dr. Uzma Nadeem the guiding force behind the unit shared her reflections on the year gone by, acknowledged the dedication of the volunteers and inspired them to keep striving for impactful change and welcomed everyone in the fest.
The highlight of the fest was an engaging panel discussion on contemporary social issues, featuring a diverse and distinguished panel – Ms. Shabnam Hashmi, a celebrated social activist; Captain Sunaina Singh, a woman of strength and determination from the Indian Army; Mr. Rohtash Chaudhary, known for his grassroots work; and Bruna Freespirit, a global influencer and advocate for sustainability and human rights. Each panelist was felicitated before the session began in recognition of their valuable contributions to society.
The panel discussion delved into themes of courage, activism, gender equality and the role of youth in nation-building. The conversation was not only informative but also deeply moving as the panelists shared real-life stories of resilience and the power of one’s voice in making a difference. The session left the audience with a renewed sense of purpose and the understanding that social transformation begins with empathy and action.
Adding an exciting and interactive twist to the day, the much-awaited Treasure Hunt competition was conducted in campus, sparking a wave of enthusiasm among students. With clues scattered creatively across the college grounds, the hunt tested not just wit and agility but also teamwork and problem-solving. Participants raced against time with high energy and laughter echoing through the corridors. The winners were felicitated with certificates and exciting hampers, making the experience all the more memorable.Alongside the on-ground events, we also organised an Online Photography Competition prior to the fest inviting entries that captured the essence of courage, social service and hope. The competition witnessed a wide range of powerful and moving submissions from students. The winning entries stood out for their creativity, message and visual impact. Winners were awarded certificates and hampers, appreciating their ability to communicate social consciousness through the lens.
Bringing a lighter and humorous touch to the event, the stage next welcomed the renowned comedian Tushar Basra, whose stand-up act had the entire audience roaring with laughter. His relatable, witty content provided a refreshing break ensuring the audience remained entertained and energized.
This was followed by a series of musical performances that added rhythm and energy to the evening. The talented band Eco Rush lit up the stage with their live performance, blending indie vibes with powerful vocals. The spotlight then moved to a gritty and impactful rap performance by Sarvagya, whose lyrics addressed social realities with raw intensity. The show closed with a dynamic act by Mohit and his teammates who left the crowd cheering with their soulful melodies and energetic stage presence.
Adding a more interactive and celebratory element to SAAHAS, a special meet-and-greet session was organized with influencers Dheeraj Singh and Mansi Narang. Their candid conversations and relatable content resonated with the students especially those interested in content creation and social media activism.
The entire college grounds buzzed with joy and color as a festive zone with food, games and retail stalls brought together students, faculty and guests in celebration. From quirky games to delicious treats and handmade merchandise, the stalls were a hit among attendees and truly added to the lively spirit of the fest.
SAAHAS 2025 was not just a fest it was a celebration of courage, community and commitment to change. The event stood as a testament to the hard work, vision of Shrutika Khattar, Bavneet Kaur, Seerat Bint E Manzoor, Prachi Palak,Vanshika,Gitika Sharma,Deerghi Sharma and entire NSS team.
