The Municipal Corporation has collected a record property tax of 100 crores in the financial year as compared to the last 5 years and has joined the 100 crore club of 4 urban bodies of Madhya Pradesh. This is an important achievement.
As per the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Sangh Priya, all the officers and employees are collecting property tax by running campaigns in the area. As a result of this, property tax of more than 100 crores has been collected so far in the financial year. This year the target of 110 crores has to be achieved. For this, property tax camps are being organized till 31st March. There are still 9 days left, we are collecting by setting a target of 1.12 crores per day. Municipal Commissioner Sangh Priya said that arrangements have been made at a large level for property tax collection as per the target, in which one team will sit in the ward and collect, one team will collect by setting up camp in the colony. One team of assistant property tax officer will identify the big defaulters of the ward as per the list available with them and will take action against them and will recover the dues in which building officer, area officer, Madakhlat will cooperate. In the past years, the recovery figure was barely able to cross 50 crores. But as soon as Municipal Commissioner Sangh Priya took charge of the corporation, he tightened the property tax staff completely and focused on recovery and the figure crossed 100 crores.
