ONE ABSCONDING DESPERATE CRIMINAL WANTED IN BRUTAL AND BLIND MURDER CASE OF PS UTTAM NAGAR ARRESTED BY WR-II, CRIME BRANCH.

  • DURING TRIAL, HE EVADED COURT PROCEEDINGS AND SUBSEQUENTLY DECLARED PROCLAIMED OFFENDER BY THE HON’BLE COURT.
INTRODUCTION:
The team of WR-II/Crime Branch has arrested one absconding fugitive criminal who was involved in a blind murder case of PS Uttam Nagar, Delhi. The Criminal has been identified as Antaj Ansari S/o Rojadin R/o Om Vihar Phase-V, Uttam Nagar, Delhi and permanent address Village Sasamusa, PS Gopal Ganj, District Siwan, Bihar, age 33 years. The accused was declared Proclaimed Offender in FIR No. 828/16, dated 27.11.2016 U/S 302/201 IPC, PS Uttam Nagar, New Delhi, by the Hon’ble Court of Sh. Sharad Gupta, ASJ (FTC), South West, Delhi, vide order dated 19/12/2024.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION:
On 25/07/2025, a secret information was received to HC Pawan Hooda that one fugitive criminal namely Antaj Ansari, who is wanted in a murder case would come to meet his associate at around 11:30 pm near RK Guest House, Behind PS Balongi, District Sas Nagar, Punjab. HC Ravinder Singh was tasked to locate the movement of the accused. The accused disguised himself and he was changing his location frequently. HC Ravinder Singh mounted technical surveillance and zeroed the location of the accused.
A team of Insp Pawan Singh, comprising of SI Kuldeep, HC Pawan Hooda, HC Pawan Kumar and Ct Manoj under the close supervision of Sh. Rajpal Dabas, ACP/WR-II was constituted by DCP/Crime Branch, Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS to nab the criminal. Team members SI Anuj Chhikara and HC Ravinder Singh mounted technical surveillance and zeroed the location of the accused. Accordingly, a trap was laid by the team near RK Guest House, Behind PS Balongi, District Sas Nagar, Punjab and accused was apprehended.
BRIEF FACTS OF CASES:
On 27.11.16, an unidentified partially burnt dead body was recovered from a vacant plot in Jaildar Enclave, Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar. The dead body was wrapped in a blanket and tied with electric wires. The face of the dead body was fully burnt and was beyond recognition. There were injuries on the head and other parts of the body. Despite best efforts the dead body could not be identified. A case FIR No 828/16 u/s 302/201 IPC, PS Uttam Nagar Delhi was registered in this regard.
INTERROGATION AND PROFILE OF ACCUSED:
On sustained interrogation, it was revealed that Antaj was living on rent in the house of one Rahim @ Salman s/o Amiruddin (45 yrs) in Uttam Nagar. On the intervening night of 25/26 Nov, 2016, Rahim @ Salman, Antaj and one of his friend Devender @ Chhota Balle consumed liquor in the room of Antaj. A sudden altercation ensued between them and in a fit of rage, Devender @ Chhota Balle and Antaj hit Rahim @ Salman on the chest with an iron rod. Then they hit him with a brick. 
Thereafter, they stabbed him with a kitchen knife. When Rahim died, they wrapped the dead body in a blanket and dumped the dead body in a vacant plot in Mohan Garden, Uttam Nagar. They cleaned the room to remove blood stains from the walls and floor. On the next day, they again consumed liquor and went to the plot to confirm whether Rahim was dead. 
After confirming that he had died, they burnt the dead body to destroy the evidence. When the police found the dead body, they escaped to Assam where Antaj’s uncle lives. They came to Delhi 10 days ago to view the situation. As they were struggling for money, they were planning to commit a robbery to survive in Delhi.
Team of Crime Branch, Delhi had apprehended Devender @ Chhota Balle and Antaj, they whipped out pistol sat the police party. However, both were overpowered. Two sophisticated pistols with 03 live cartridges were recovered from their possession.  A case FIR No. 204/16 dated 21.12.2016 u/s 186/353/307/34 IPC & 27 Arms Act, PS Crime Branch, Delhi was registered in this regard.
During trial, he evaded court proceedings and subsequently declared Proclaimed Offender by the Hon’ble court. 
Antaj Ansari was born in a small village in Siwan, Bihar. His family shifted to Delhi in search of livelihood long back. His parents worked as helpers in a private school in Uttam Nagar area. He studied upto 4th standard. Presently, he was working as casual labour. His younger brother was also arrested in a rape case.
