Morena. Civil Line Police caught a truck loaded with 30 quintals of ganja worth Rs 6 crore 35 lakh on Holi. Police has also arrested the truck driver. He was taking this ganja from Nagpur to Delhi. The special thing is that he covered a distance of 800 km from Nagpur to Morena and he was not caught. The main reason for this was that he had kept big packets of ganja in the truck and filled animal feed on top of it. Morena Police has taken action in this case under the Narcotics Act.
According to Civil Line Police Station in-charge Preeti Singh Jadoun, on Friday evening, the police received information that a truck loaded with drugs was coming from Savitapura towards the National Highway on Morena Branch Canal. Based on the information, Sub Inspector Ajay Baisandar was sent with the force for action. When the police team stopped the truck and checked it, 30 quintals of ganja was found in it which was being smuggled from Maharashtra to Delhi hidden under the cover of animal feed. Animal feed was found on the top of the truck, under which ganja was hidden in big packets. According to the police, the value of the seized ganja is Rs 6 crore 35 lakh. The police have arrested truck driver Virendra son of Samu Yadav, resident of Jaunpur UP, currently in Mumbai. The accused truck driver was produced in court on Saturday and taken on police remand till March 20. The driver was talking to smugglers through Telegram app
The police have found the Telegram app in the mobile of the accused truck driver. Through this app, he was talking about smuggling of ganja. The call numbers of the conversation on this app get deleted automatically. Therefore, the police is not able to move forward to penetrate the network related to smuggling of ganja.
