In line with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s visionary mission of Viksit Bharat@2047 and NDMC’s commitment to strengthening public amenities, Shri Kuljeet Singh Chahal, Vice Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), today inaugurated two important public welfare facilities — a new shaded Shoe House and a Free Drinking Water Facility at Shiv Mandir, located within Hanuman Mandir Vatika, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Chahal shared that the Hanuman Vatika complex houses three prominent temples — Prachin Hanuman Mandir, Ganesh Mandir, and Shiv Mandir — which witness a heavy footfall of devotees every day.

To meet rising demand and improve convenience for visitors, a new open shade structure has been added to the existing Shoe House, especially catering to devotees visiting the Ganesh and Shiv Mandirs. This is an expansion of the earlier facility already operational in the complex, ensuring safe and systematic footwear storage.

Considering the need for drinking water, Shri Chahal has installed a water cooler at Shiv Mandir at his own personal expense. He also informed that another water cooler will soon be donated for the Hanuman Mandir complex, where construction work is currently in progress, so that more people can get access to free cold drinking water easily.

As part of NDMC’s broader initiative to enhance public safety and crowd management at religious and high-footfall sites, a stainless steel Police Tower will also be installed at Hanuman Vatika. Shri Chahal noted that the area sees large gatherings, especially on Tuesdays and religious festivals, and the tower will assist police personnel in managing crowds more efficiently and ensuring public safety.

He added that considering the spiritual significance of the temples and the devotion of thousands of worshippers, NDMC is undertaking several development works around Hanuman Mandir Vatika.
Reaffirming NDMC’s focus on quality and service excellence, Shri Chahal stated that the Council is striving to Swachh Survekshan. He emphasized that ongoing beautification and facility development projects are closely aligned with this goal. He further added that he personally monitors these initiatives to ensure that the benefits reach citizens effectively and on time.

In conclusion, Shri Chahal expressed confidence that these new initiatives will bring significant benefits to devotees, local shopkeepers, and the temple management. He reiterated NDMC’s firm commitment to the holistic development of Hanuman Mandir Vatika, through public participation and regular feedback from visitors.

He underlined that all these efforts are a part of the larger mission to realize the Prime Minister’s vision of a modern, clean, and citizen-centric urban India under Viksit Bharat@2047.

On the occasion, Officers and Officials of Civil Engineering Department, Health Department, Horticulture Department were present alongwith large number of Devotees /visitors.
