JOB SCAM EXPOSED: CONMAN ARRESTED

Police Station Barakhamba Road has nabbed a conman who cheated Rs. 1,34,500/- from the victim on the pretext of providing Govt. Job in Nehru Yuwa Kendra Sangthan.

INCIDENT AND TEAM:

Complainant Sh. Devanand Sah R/o NDMC Market, Bengali Market, New Delhi, who has been working as Manager at Delhi Darbar Dhaba reported that a person namely Sitaram who claimed working at National Cadet Corp office in Delhi, used to come to his dhaba for having lunch and dinner. Sitaram offered the complainant that he would provide placement for his son Aman Kumar Sah in Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Delhi which comes under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India. The alleged gave assurance and demanded Rs. 1.5 lakh on the pretext of providing job to his son. Believing his assurance, the complainant provided details including photograph of his son and arranged Rs. 1.5 lakh and transferred the amount to the alleged in his account. The alleged provided a joining letter, dated 19.11.2023 for the post of NYKS DYCSA post in Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. As per the joining letter, Aman Kumar Sah, son of the complainant was to report to Adjutant, NYKS, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sanghathan, Ground Floor, 4, Jeevan Deep Bhawan, Sansad Marg, New Delhi on 12.01.2024 at 09:30 AM. When, Aman Kumar Sah visited the office of GD NYKS and enquired about the joining letter. Where, it came to know that the joining letter was forged and was not issued from the office of the GD NYKS. It was also come to know that there is no employee with the name of Sitaram. Thereafter, the complainant contacted the alleged and requested to refund his money but he did not return his amount and gave several excuses. The complainant made enquiry about him and found that he has cheated several people. He has made a Facebook page with the name of Sitaram and has presented himself Founder and National President Veerta the Your Power of India Organization & National Secretary. Accordingly, case vide FIR No. 57/25, under section 420/468/471 IPC was registered at Police Station Barakhamba Road, New Delhi and investigation was taken up.

A team comprising of SI Kuldeep Yadav, SI Manjeet Singh, HC Subhash No. 2184/ND & HC Rambir No. 907/ND led by Inspr. Mahabir Singh, SHO/Barakhamba Road and under the overall supervision of Sh. Nageen Kaushik, ACP/Barakhamba Road was constituted to crack the case.

INVESTIGATION AND ARREST:

During investigation, accused was identified as Sita Ram S/o Sh. Matadeen R/o H. No. 91, Village Goyla Khurd, Delhi. Hence, the team visited there and it came to know that accused Sita Ram along with his family had lived there on rent and has left in 2013. Present whereabouts of accused Sita Ram was not known to anyone.

The team continued investigation and their hard work bore fruit. On the basis of technical surveillance as well as human intelligence, the team located his current residence in Noida, U.P. Initially, he tried to mislead the team by saying that he has been running an NGO and working in a Media Channel. After sustained interrogation, he broke down and confessed his involvement in the cases and stated that he has cheated several persons.

On sustained enquiry, Sita Ram accepted that he has cheated the complainant as well as several young girls and boys who were connected to NCC and Veerta The Youse Power of India. He also accepted that he created the forged appointment letter of Nehru Yuwa Kendra Sangthan with the help of PICSART application and sent the same to the complainant on WhatsApp.

The accused was arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Patiala House Court, New Delhi, where the Hon’ble Court remanded the accused for two days police custody. It has also come to know that several complaints of cheating and fraud on the pretext of providing jobs have been lodged by several girls and boys at several police stations and accused Sita Ram is wanted in case FIR No. 547/2022, Dated 29.06.2022, U/S 420 IPC, PS Burari, Distt. North, Delhi. Other complaints are pending enquiry against him in various police station of Delhi. Further investigation of the case is being carried out and involvement of other persons is being verified.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON:

Sita Ram (34 years) son of Sh. Matadeen Ahirwar– The accused is a permanent resident of Village- Pur, Post Maharajpur, Tehsil & Distt. Chhattarpur, Madhya Pradesh. He was born in Village Goyla Khurd, Delhi as his family had lived there in a rented house. He completed his 12th Class from Govt. Boy Senior Secondary School, Goyla Khurd, Delhi. Thereafter, he took admission in Moti Lal Nehru College, South Campus but could not complete his B.A. Sanskrit (H) and dropped out in final year. During his study, he was also actively involved in NCC. He also joined Aatam Nirbhar program under Yamuna Project as volunteer. He also created a trust with the name of Veerta The Youth Power of India and shows himself as Founder & General Secretary. He also created Facebook Pages with Sitaram NCC and Veerta The Youth Power of India.
