Police took major action near Kalyani railway bridge during checking campaign in Aatri police station area. On 23 December 2024 at 12:35 pm, during checking under the leadership of Sauni Jogprakash Sharma, two suspicious persons riding a bike were stopped. On search, a 315 bore pistol and two live rounds were recovered from them.
The accused were identified as Dilip Padav son Raghutir Singh Yadav and Rakesh Batham son Ganeshram Batham, resident Kalyani. Police seized the pistol and bullets on the spot, which is estimated to be worth around Rs 5 thousand.
During this, the police did a live video recording of the checking for the first time, in which the entire process of catching the accused was captured. This video has become a topic of discussion on social media.
Police have registered a case against both the accused under 25/27 Arms Act and 214/20 24 and sent them to jail.
