New Delhi: Adi Shankaracharya Janseva Trust organized a Srimad Bhagavad Gita Jayanti Celebration on the occasion of Mokshada Ekadashi at ISKCON Temple Rohini, in which hundreds of religious devotees of the society participated and listened to the views of famous speakers on various aspects of the Bhagavad Gita.
Today is 5162 years ago, in the battle of Mahabharata, Yogeshwar Lord Krishna, from the battlefield of Kurukshetra, inspired the disappointed Arjun to fight for religion by removing his cowardice and imparting the knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita from his Shrimukh, due to which Arjun was ready to fight for the establishment of religion.
Lord Adi Shankaracharya wrote the first authorized commentary on the Bhagavad Gita, which was lost in the era of opponents of the Vedas, which is known as Shankarbhashya. Therefore, Adi Shankaracharya Janseva Trust organizes Gita Jayanti Celebration every year.
On this occasion, Arya Samaj's senior preacher Arya Tapasvi Ji Maharaj described Bhagwad Gita as a guide to unite the soul with the Almighty and described the importance of Gita's teachings for the upliftment of society. Famous Jain saint Vivek Muni Ji Maharaj stressed the need for today's youth to become Arjun.
Just as disappointed Arjun heard Gita's teachings from Shri Krishna and awakened his courage and defeated the Kauravas, today the youth are facing a similar situation in a different form and it can be overcome only by the teachings of Gita. President of Bharatiya Buddhist Mahasangh, Bhante Sanghpriya Rahul Gautam described those who demolished temples in Bangladesh and arrested ISKCON's religious leaders as Kauravas and called upon the society to unite and stand against such anti-religious forces. He told that Bhagwad Gita also teaches to destroy those who oppose religion and heretics. Chief speaker Mukesh Khandekar Ji described Gita as a book not to be read but to be imbibed.
He told that the teachings of Shramd Bhagwad Gita show you the way at every turn of life. ISKCON Rohini's president Keshav Murari Prabhu said that Mahabharata and Ram-Ravan war were fought over insult of women and today women power is being openly insulted in Bangladesh. Hindu society will not accept this. Indian government should worry about Hindus living abroad and take immediate action against anti-religious elements. He told that many prisoners in Tihar jail improved their lives by gaining knowledge of Bhagwad Gita from him.
In the end, Adi Shankaracharya Jan Seva Trust's president Deepak Gupta distributed Gita free of cost and made all the religious people take a pledge to read and understand Bhagwad Gita and adopt it in their life instead of keeping it in the temple.
While managing the stage, Krishnanand kept the people present there engaged with the shlokas and meanings of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita from time to time. 12 sisters from South India recited all the shlokas of 15 chapters of Bhagwad Gita. Vasudev Bansal, Vinod Singhal, Deepak Agarwal, Arvind Gupta, Girish Gupta, RK Sharma, Pradeep Garg, Litin Sharma, Prabhat Sharma etc. played an important role in the coordination of the program.
