An absconding accused Narcotics supplier declared PO in NDPS case by the Court arrested by Southern Range Crime Branch

He is a habitual offender, previously involved in two cases under the NDPS Act.
He was wanted in a PS Jahangir Puri NDPS case but had absconded and was evading arrest.
He had shifted to District Hanuman Garh, Rajasthan to avoid arrest.
He was declared a Proclaimed Offender (PO) by the Ld. Court.

Introduction

The Delhi Police's Southern Range Crime Branch has successfully arrested Sanjay @ Sanju Kana, a 39-year-old absconding criminal declared a Proclaimed Offender on 21.12.2024 in an NDPS Act case registered at PS Jahangir Puri. He was wanted in a case involving the supply of smack and had been evading arrest since registration of case, shifting to District Hanuman Garh, Rajasthan.

Investigation and Arrest:

Team Effort: A dedicated team led by Inspector Satish Malik and supervised by ACP Shri Girish Kaushik conducted the operation.

Intelligence Gathering: HC Ajay developed credible input and conducted surveillance, leading to the successful apprehension.

Arrest Location: Rajpura Road, near OPL, Delhi, on August 8, 2025.

Identity: Sanjay @ Sanju Kana @ Sanjay Kumar, son of Manohar Lal, resident of Majnu ka Tila, Aruna Nagar, Delhi.

Previous Cases: Involved in two NDPS Act cases:

? FIR No. 313/2021 u/s 21/29 NDPS Act r/w 201 IPC – PS Timarpur, North Delhi.

? FIR No. 635/2022 u/s 21/25 NDPS Act – PS Wazirabad, North Delhi.

? Notorious Activities: Supplies contraband substances, particularly smack, in Majnu ka Tila area.

Legal Proceedings:

? Proclaimed Offender: Declared by the Hon'ble Court on December 21, 2024.

? Arrest and Production: Sanjay @ Sanju Kana was arrested under relevant provisions and produced before the Rohini Courts.

? Further Proceedings: PS Jahangir Puri has been informed for further legal action
