CRACKDOWN ON DRUG TRADE: INTERSTATE DRUG PEDDLERS NABBED BY CRIME BRANCH

• 2.450 KILOGRAMS OF FINE QUALITY CHARAS WORTH RS. 12 LAKH SEIZED.
INTRODUCTION:
Crime Branch has successfully executed another significant operation as part of its "Zero Tolerance" policy on drug trafficking, aligning with the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan". In a recent strategic operation led by the Northern Range-I (NR-1) of the Crime Branch, two individuals involved in the distribution of Charas in Delhi and NCR were apprehended and a substantial 2.450 kilograms of Charas was seized from their possession. A case has been registered vide case FIR 174/2025, under Sections 20/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at PS Crime Branch.
INFORMATION TEAM & OPERATION: 
The current operation was the culmination of two months of sustained intelligence gathering by SI Narender Singh. Initial inputs were received by SI Narender Singh through human intelligence sources, which were subsequently corroborated and enhanced through technical surveillance and analytics by SI Narender Singh. SI Narender meticulously tracked the suspected movements from Gopalganj, Bihar to Delhi, utilizing surveillance of key mobile numbers associated with the accused persons. Based on this consolidated intelligence, it was established that a major narcotic consignment (Charas) was en-route to the Delhi/NCR region.
Based on specific information and technical surveillance, a raiding party led by Inspector Sanjay Kaushik, consisting of SI Narender Singh, ASI Virender, ASI Ramesh Rana, HC Sanjeev, Ct. Vivek and Ct. Annu was formed under the supervision of ACP Ashok Kumar Sharma, NR-I, and the overall supervision of Sh. Harsh Indora, IPS, DCP/Crime Branch.
The targeted suppliers were intercepted near Mukundpur flyover and both were apprehended. The apprehended individuals have been identified as:
• Belal Ahmed @ Bilal s/o Abdul Salam R/o Vill: Inderwa Abdullah, Post - Thawe, PS & Dist - Gopalganj, Bihar Age 39 Years.
• Ashfaque Ahmad s/o Bashir Ahmad R/o Vill: Inderwan Rafi, Post- Sukulwan, PS & Dist- Gopalganj, Bihar Age 27 Years.
Upon inspection, a 1203 gm Charas was recovered from the possession of Ashfaque Ahmad and 1247 gm of Charas was recovered from the possession of accused Belal Ahmad @ Bilal (total of 2.450 kilograms of Charas). In connection with this recovery, a case has been registered vide FIR No. 174/2025, u/s 20/29 NDPS Act, at Police Station Crime Branch, Delhi and both accused have been arrested in the case. The recovered Charas was being transported from Narkatiyaganj, Bihar to Delhi NCR. They admitted that they were on-site to supply the contraband to an associate. The investigation remains ongoing to identify additional network members and trace the distribution routes used in this syndicate.
 
RECOVERY: 
• 2.450 kilograms of fine quality Charas from the possession of accused Ashfaque Ahmad and Belal Ahmad @ Bilal.
 PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSON: 
1.  Belal Ahmad @ Bilal age- 37 yrs: He was born in his village and studied up to 12th grade in Delhi. After short stints in Saudi Arabia (2008, 2015–16, and 2023), he returned and helped run his father’s cake shop “Raja Traders” in Gopalganj. Under financial and family pressure, he met Ashfaque Ahmed at a local café, who introduced him to a Nepali man, Narayan Khawas, who supplied Charas. Belal and Ashfaq met Narayan in Narkatiyaganj, Bihar and bought Charas using ?60,000 each. A sample was sent to Sanjeet in Delhi, who approved the deal. Belal and Ashfaq traveled to Delhi with the Charas, planning to meet Sanjeet near Mukundpur Flyover. They were caught by the police with the Charas. 
2. Ashfaque Ahmad age-27 yrs: He was born in his village and studied till 10th from Bihar Open Board. After that, he went to Bengaluru where he sold clothes on the footpath and later worked at a sports shop. There, he got a chance to play cricket, which was his passion. He played for Bihar Under-23 in 2019 and Under-25 in the 2021–22 C.K. Naidu Trophy. His brother runs Dehati Cafe in Gopalganj, where he helped sometimes. There, he met Bilal Ahmed through. He also met Narayan Khawas, a Nepali man who supplies Charas in Narkatiyaganj. Narayan said it sells at a good profit in Delhi and mentioned a buyer named Sanjeet. He gave ?60,000 to Bilal, who added the same amount and bought Charas from Narayan. A week ago, Bilal sent him to Delhi with a sample. He met Sanjeet near Azadpur Mandi and finalized the deal. Bilal then came to Delhi with the Charas. They met near Shaheen Bagh, split the Charas in their bags, and went to deliver it to Sanjeet near Mukundpur flyover. They were caught by the police with the Charas. 
The interrogation of the arrested suppliers is ongoing to uncover the identities of their remaining associates and map out the structure of the entire syndicate.
