Delhi Police Welfare Unit Leads Powerful Har Ghar Tiranga Phase 2 Drive: Patriotism Meets Community Engagement

Mahesh Chandra  - Delhi

With the commencement of Phase 2 of the celebrated Har Ghar Tiranga campaign i.e. from 9-12 August, 2025, the Welfare Unit of Delhi Police, under the dynamic leadership of Special Commissioner of Police (Welfare) Shri Atul Katiyar, has set a compelling example of patriotic fervor and community commitment in the capital.
Building on the values of unity and civic duty, Delhi Police women officers took to the streets and police canteens across the city with an innovative outreach. On Rakshabandhan, they tied traditional rakhis to road users—including traffic violators—transforming the festival’s symbolism into a pledge for safer roads. Each recipient was then presented with the Indian national flag, personally encouraging participation in the Har Ghar Tiranga movement and reinforcing national pride at every doorstep.
The initiative extended within the police fraternity as well. Women officers in every police canteen tied rakhis to visitors and distributed the national flag, fostering solidarity and patriotic spirit at the heart of the force.
Guided by Special CP Welfare Shri Atul Katiyar, this thoughtfully executed drive seamlessly linked Rakshabandhan’s message of protection with the spirit of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. The effort underscored that safeguarding one another—whether through traffic discipline or flying the Tiranga—is an act of both personal and national significance.
Widely welcomed by the public and amplified on social media, the Delhi Police Welfare Unit’s endeavor during Har Ghar Tiranga Phase 2 stands as a shining example of how tradition can be harmonized with civic and patriotic duty, inspiring citizens and strengthening the nation’s unity
