Awareness campaign will also be run
District Magistrate Ashish Singh gave information about this decision. He said that by the end of this month (December), the administration will run an awareness campaign against begging in Indore city. Strictness will be adopted after the awareness campaign is completed. From January 1, if any person is found giving alms, an FIR will also be registered against him.
Don't become a partner in sin by giving alms: DM
District Magistrate Ashish Singh said that the administration has already issued an order banning begging in Indore city. In such a situation, the focus will be on implementing this order and increasing awareness. I appeal to all Indore residents not to become a partner in sin by giving alms to people.
Different gangs involved in begging exposed
District Magistrate Ashish Singh also cited some incidents. He said that the administration has exposed different gangs involved in begging during the past months. The administration has also rehabilitated many people involved in begging. Let us tell you that the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Central Government has started a pilot project to make 10 cities of the country beggar-free. Indore city is also included in this pilot project.
