The last robber who robbed a goldsmith of his gold and silver jewellery in Antari area was also caught by the police during bus checking near Samrat Hotel
Police recovered a total of 10.79 grams of gold jewellery and a total of 715.51 grams of silver jewellery from the arrested robber and seized a 12 bore pistol with a live round used in the crime.
Out of the total 05 miscreants involved in the robbery incident, two robbers who committed the robbery and two miscreants involved in the robbery plan have already been arrested by Antari police.
From the looted goods, 600 grams of silver and 05 grams of gold jewellery and Honda Shine motorcycle used in the crime were seized from the accused arrested earlier.
Brief description of the incident: - Complainant Pankaj Soni son Jagdish Soni age 42 years resident of Bajrang Nagar, Naka Chandrabadni, Jhansi Road Gwalior, on Saturday, 09.11.2024 at noon, my bag full of gold and silver jewellery was snatched by unknown miscreants at gunpoint near Sharma Farm House on Antari and Jaurasi road. On the report of the complainant goldsmith, a case was registered against unknown miscreants in Antari police station under crime number 191/24 section 309 (4) BNS and 11/13 MPDPK Act addition section 61 (2) BNS and 25/27 Arms Act and taken into investigation.
Superintendent of Police Gwalior Shri Dharmveer Singh (Bapuse) was directed to deploy a team of police station Antari to arrest the remaining absconding accused in the robbery incident and recover the looted goods. Today on 29.11.2024, Superintendent of Police Gwalior received information through informer that an absconding accused involved in the above robbery incident with the goldsmith is going to Lalitpur (Jhansi) by bus. On the information of the informer, Superintendent of Police Gwalior directed Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Shri Niranjan Sharma to verify the informer information and deploy the team of police station internal for action.
As per the instructions of senior officers, under the able guidance of SDOP Dabra Shri Vivek Sharma, under the leadership of Police Station Incharge Internal Inspector Devendra Mishra, a team of police station internal on the informer information was set up near Samrat Hotel before Kalyani Chauraha to apprehend the absconding accused of the above robbery incident. During the checking, the police team stopped and checked the bus coming from Gwalior to Lalitpur Jhansi. A suspect matching the description given by the informer was found sitting in the bus. When he was caught and questioned, he confessed to being involved in the robbery of the goldsmith and said that he was a resident of Lalitpur Jhansi and currently residing in Falaka Bazar, Gwalior. On searching, a 12 bore pistol with a live round was seized from the arrested accused. On the identification of the accused arrested by the Antari police station, the looted goods including a gold ring, a red gold ring, a pair of gold earrings, a pair of thin gold earrings, three gold lockets, four longs, total 10.79 grams of gold jewellery and silver anklets of 92.52 grams and silver anklets of 622.99 grams, total 715.51 grams of silver jewellery were seized. The accused caught by the Antari police station has been duly arrested in case no. 191/24 section 309(4) BNS and 11/13 MPDPK Act addition section 61(2) BNS and 25/27 Arms Act and is being questioned in connection with other robbery incidents.
Recovered goods: Total 10.79 grams of gold jewellery- which includes one ring, one red ring, one pair of earrings, one pair of thin earrings, three lockets, four cloves and total 715.51 grams of silver jewellery- which includes toe rings of 92.52 grams and anklets of 622.99 grams and one 12 bore pistol used in the incident with one live round were seized.
