Cyber Challenge-Delhi Police (Hackathon-2024)

On 28th November, 2024, Sh. Vivek Gogia, Special Commissioner, Operations and Technology & Project Implementation Division inaugurated the Hackathon, Cyber Challenge-Delhi Police in collaboration with CyberPeace Foundation at Delhi Police Headquarters, marking the beginning of a nationwide initiative aimed at fostering innovation and finding effective solutions to emerging challenges in the digital world. 

The Spokesman told to Vijay Gaur Bureau Chief that the  event was attended by participants from renowned institutions, including Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujarat, DRDO, MeiTY, National Forensic Science University, Delhi, Startup India, CyberPeace Foundation and Uber India.
The Cyber Challenge is designed to bring together industries, scholars, and students to explore and develop practical solutions for critical issues such as combating digital arrest, fake news, enhancing women’s safety and improving social media monitoring mechanisms. As part of Delhi Police's ongoing commitment to making Delhi a safer city while embracing the latest advancements in technology. The cyber challenge initiative is expected to foster collaboration between law enforcement agencies, academic institutions, and technology experts.
Speaking at the event, the Sh. Vivek Gogia, Special Commissioner of Police emphasized the vital role of technological innovation in law enforcement, highlighting the increasing need for collaboration between various stakeholders to stay ahead of emerging digital threats. "The challenges in the digital age—whether it is combating fake news, ensuring online safety for women, or managing digital crimes—require multi-dimensional solutions. This Cyber Challenge is an important step towards finding those solutions,".
The Cyber Challenge will run in multiple phases, with participants from across the country. With this launch, the online registration for participants starts at Delhi Police website. The finalist from the shortlist participants will be announced in the 2nd week of January, 2025 followed by grand finale from 15th to 16th January, 2025 at New Delhi.  The winners will be felicitated with attractive prices and certificates in the award ceremony scheduled on 17th January, 2025.
