DREADED GANGSTER NABBED, INTER-STATE ILLEGAL ARMS RACKET BUSTED BY CRIME BRANCH

TWO BERETTA (SOPHISTICATED PISTOLS), ONE COUNTRY MADE PISTOL & 28 CARTRIDGES RECOVERED FROM A DREADED CRIMINAL.
THE ARRESTED GANGSTER IS AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF HASHIM BABA GANG AND A CLOSE AIDE OF YOGESH BHATI.

INTRODUCTION:

In a major breakthrough, the Cyber Cell team of Crime Branch, Delhi Police, has successfully busted an inter-state illegal arms supply racket and arrested a notorious gangster identified as Kapil @ Ghoda, a key supplier of firearms in the Delhi-NCR region. The police team recovered two BERETTA semi-automatic pistols, one country made pistol, and 28 live cartridges from his possession.

OPERATION DETAILS:

On the basis of specific and credible intelligence received by Constable Ashish regarding the movement of a gangster involved in illegal arms trafficking from Etah, Uttar Pradesh, a team was immediately constituted under the leadership of Inspector Sandeep Singh, comprising SI Arjun, HC Anand, HC Mohit, and Ct. Ashish, under the close supervision of ACP Anil Sharma.

Acting swiftly on the input, a strategic trap was laid near Gopalpur, Outer Ring Road, Delhi. The suspect, Kapil @ Ghoda, resident of Patel Nagar, was successfully apprehended. A thorough personal search led to the recovery of two sophisticated BERETTA pistols, one country-made pistol, and 28 live cartridges.

A case has been registered in this regard under sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act at PS Crime Branch, Delhi.

INTERROGATION FINDINGS:

During sustained interrogation, the accused Kapil disclosed that he is an active member of the Hashim Baba Gang, and operates under the directions of Yogesh Bhati, a dreaded gangster currently lodged in Rohini Jail. Acting on Bhati’s instructions, Kapil had procured the seized arms consignment from a contact named Golu, based near Ashram Chowk. Further, it was revealed that Golu hails from Etah, Uttar Pradesh, and is part of a larger arms trafficking network operating across state lines and coordinated from within jail premises.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND:

The arrested gangster has a history of criminal involvement and is previously named in four cases of robbery, registered at:

• PS DBG Road (2018)

• PS Moti Nagar (2021)

• PS Patel Nagar (2022 & 2023)

He has been actively aiding the gang’s operations in procurement and supply of illegal firearms across Delhi-NCR.

Further investigation is under way.
