Tansen Music Festival 2024: Gwalior engaged in preparations for the centenary year

Preparations are in full swing for the 100th Tansen Music Festival to be organized in the memory of Music Emperor Tansen. Divisional Commissioner Mr. Manoj Khatri, along with Collector Mrs. Ruchika Chauhan, visited the venues Tansen Samadhi Complex, INTUC Ground and Behat and took stock of the preparations.

Instructions to make the centenary celebrations grand

The Divisional Commissioner instructed the officials to ensure high-level arrangements to give the centenary year an international level look. Arrangements will be made for cleanliness, excellent seating arrangements and installation of LED screens in additional pandals for music lovers so that more viewers can enjoy the music.

Special attention on vegetable market and parking

Instructions were given to temporarily shift or keep the vegetable market closed on the day of the “Gamak” Sabha organized at INTUC Ground. Also, such parking arrangements have been ensured so that music lovers can easily reach the venues.

Visit to Behat, the birthplace of Tansen

The organizers also inspected the preparations at Behat, the birthplace of Sur Samrat Tansen. On December 19, a morning music festival will be organized on the Muktaakash stage here. Instructions were also given for cleaning and beautification of the surrounding areas.

December 15 to 19: Festival of classical music

Tansen Music Festival will be held from December 15 to 19. The Purva Rang will begin on December 14 in the form of “Gamak”. 10 grand music festivals will be organized in the festival, in which music will resonate at historical places like Tansen Samadhi, Bateshwar Temple and Gujri Mahal.

This festival is a unique opportunity for Indian classical music lovers, which will take the cultural heritage of Gwalior to a new height.
