Datia district administration is in alert mode due to the incident of death of newborns due to fire in Bundelkhand Medical College in Jhansi.
On the instructions of Collector Sandeep Kumar Makin, AE Nagar Palika Devendra Kol, Civil Surgeon Dr. KC Rathore and Hospital Manager Dr. Rajesh Patel have been directed to investigate fire fighting in SNCU District Hospital Datia.
The above three officers inspected the SNCU premises on Saturday. During the inspection, fire alarm, smoke detector and fire cylinder were found in working condition and loose hanging wires were not found. The information letter was asked to be written through the Civil Surgeon to direct the contractor to complete the fire safety system currently running in the hospital (sprinkler system, terrace level fire pump, terrace level tank) quickly.
Information regarding fire training was taken from all the staff which was satisfactory.
Everyone was informed that for a fire to start, three components are required; fuel, heat and oxygen and that by removing any one of the three components to extinguish the fire, the fire will be extinguished. If required, they were instructed to act on the basis of the above principle (removing any one of the components fuel, heat and oxygen) and deal with any accident in a united manner. They were also directed not to use any fire extinguisher or any inflammable substance in the premises.
