Pavan Paruthi - Gwalior

All the institutions running the marriage venues should ensure to obtain marriage venue registration and usage permit by submitting application at the Municipal Corporation Headquarters City Center Gwalior as per the provisions prescribed in the bye-law. For this, notices were issued by running a campaign at 242 marriage venues located in all four assembly constituencies of the city today on Saturday.

Municipal Corporation Commissioner Mr. Aman Vaishnav has now told that on MP Gazette dated 06/01/2021 MP Nagar Palika (Registration and Use of Marriage Venues) Model Bye-law 2020 was published. Under Rule 10 of the said bye-law 2020, the marriage venues were to be registered within 03 months of the notification as per the provisions prescribed in the bye-law, otherwise the provision of removal and prosecution proceedings by declaring the marriage venues as unauthorized is prescribed in the bye-law. A copy of the bye-law 2020 can be obtained from the website of the Municipal Corporation www.municipal.gov.in.

Under the definition rule 02 (j) of the said bye-law, marriage venue means all places having the capacity to gather more than 50 persons within the limits of the Municipal Corporation such as hotels, plots, farms, community centres, buildings, clubs, banquet halls, dharamshalas etc. which are used for marriage, engagement, baraat ghar, birthday and other types of social functions such as festivals, exhibitions, conventions, Garba Utsav, New Year celebrations etc. But it is seen that marriage venues in cities are being operated by the concerned person, institution, company without obtaining registration and use permit from the Municipal Corporation. Which is a violation of the rules provided in the bye-law and is punishable by prosecution proceedings as per Rule 10 and 15.

Under the direction of Municipal Commissioner Shri Vaishnav, notices were issued to 126 marriage garden operators by Building Officer Shri Rakesh Kashyap under Gwalior East Assembly Constituency, notices were issued to 42 marriage garden operators by Building Officer Shri Pawan Sharma under Gwalior South Assembly Constituency, notices were issued to 40 marriage garden operators by Building Officer Shri Yashwant Maklay under Gwalior Assembly Constituency and notices were issued to 34 marriage garden operators by Building Officer Shri Rajiv Soni under Gwalior Rural Assembly Constituency. Thus a total of 242 notices were issued.
