Grand Inauguration of Bihar Pavilion and State Day – A Unique Showcase of Bihar’s Progress in the Theme ‘Developed India 2047’

The Bihar Pavilion and State Day Cultural Program showcasing the inspirational journey of Bihar’s ‘Developed Bihar’ at India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 was inaugurated by Shri Nitish Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of Industry & Tourism, Government of Bihar. After a tour of the Bihar Pavilion, the Hon’ble Minister of Industry addressed the press meet. Organized under the theme “Developed India 2047”, Bihar is participating as a partner state in the fair, and the Bihar Pavilion located in Hall No. 2 is a live showcase of the cultural heritage and industrial progress of the state. Alok Ranjan Ghosh, Director, Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, Shri Nikhil Dhanraj Nippanikar, Director, Handloom & Silk Industry, Government of Bihar, Ashok Kumar Sinha, Additional Director, Bihar Museum and Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Director, Bihar Information Centre, New Delhi were also present on the occasion.

Bihar Pavilion: A glimpse of 'Developed Bihar' in 'Developed India 2047'

The main gate of the Bihar Pavilion is designed as a 'Civilization Gate' which presents the five major areas of the state - culture, industry, tourism, spirituality and women empowerment. The walls also depict ancient and modern Nalanda as well as the glass bridge of Rajgir in 3D printing, giving a glimpse of the rich past and current development of the state. The pavilion also has traditional art like Madhubani, Manjusha, Tikuli and Kohbar, which connects the audience to the cultural heritage of Bihar.

Vocal for Local: Grand Exhibition of Industries of Bihar

The Bihar Pavilion has showcased the products and industries of Bihar at 75 stalls of the state. It also showcases the efforts of the state government to encourage entrepreneurship under schemes like Mukhyamantri Udyam Yojana and Start-up Bihar. Along with this, traditional handicrafts, khadi and other local industries have been given prominence in the exhibition, which introduces the economic progress and self-reliance of Bihar.

Committed to environmental friendliness and sustainability

Following the guidelines of ITPO, the Bihar Pavilion has been made plastic-free and sustainable. Only local and indigenous products have been used in the decoration of the pavilion, which not only enhances the beauty of the pavilion but also provides employment to local artisans and entrepreneurs.

Special focus on women empowerment and rural development

During the press meet, Industry and Tourism Minister Shri Nitish Mishra said that a glimpse of the women empowerment efforts of the Bihar government is also visible in the pavilion, in which products manufactured by women under schemes like Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana have been displayed. Along with this, the contribution of the state in rural development has also been presented, which is promoting modern agricultural technology and rural entrepreneurship.

Roadmap for Industrial and Economic Progress of Bihar

The Hon’ble Minister informed that the Bihar Pavilion has presented the roadmap for the industrial progress of the state, which showcases the expansion of industries such as textiles, leather, food processing, and IT/ITES and the strong economy of the state. This year, the state's Gross Domestic Product (GSDP) registered a remarkable growth of 10.6%, the second highest in the country.

E-Governance and Investment Friendly Environment

He informed that Bihar has implemented e-governance and single window system to enhance ease of doing business and transparency. The state government is providing financial assistance, market access, and technology support to MSMEs, thereby creating a favorable environment for investment in Bihar. Apart from this, Khadi malls and industrial parks are also being constructed in the state, which are further accelerating the growth of local industries.

Celebration of Bihar Day: A confluence of culture and traditions

Bihar Day was organised today at MP Theatre 2 from 6 pm, where eminent folk artists of the state entertained the audience with genres like Kajri, Magahi, Thumri, and Sohar. Bihar's folk art and music also remain a special attraction for the international audience in this international trade fair.

The grandeur with which the journey of 'Developed Bihar' has been presented in the Bihar Pavilion reflects the developing outlook and economic, cultural and social progress of the state.
