People showed interest in the samples of minerals at the stall of Mines and Geology Department, Government of Jharkhand.

The stall of Jharkhand Mines and Geology Department is giving information about minerals to the people coming to the Jharkhand Pavilion.

New Delhi: The Jharkhand Pavilion built in the Indian International Trade Fair 2024 saw a huge crowd on Sunday. While on one hand the people coming to the pavilion are liking and buying the products of Jharkhand, on the other hand they are taking information about their schemes at the stalls of various departments of Jharkhand state. A huge crowd of people was seen at the stall of Jharkhand Mines and Geology Department built in the Jharkhand Pavilion. Jharkhand Mines and Geology Department has displayed a live demo of different minerals at its stall. In which people are showing a lot of interest. Surveyor of Jharkhand Mines and Geology Department, Mr. Sunil Kumar said that live demos and information about other minerals displayed at the stall are being given. The minerals displayed include graphite, coal, iron ore, mica, bauxite, cuneite. Here people are being told that graphite is used to make pencils, coal is used to make energy, iron ore is used to make iron, mica is used to make paint, bauxite is used to make aluminium, cuneite is used to make refractory. Geologist of the department, Mr. Vivekanand Jha said that apart from the minerals displayed, limestone, gold, mica, manganese, uranium etc. are also found.

School children visiting the pavilion are showing interest in the mineral samples. They are being informed about the types of minerals, their exploration and processing. While sharing information with some businessmen from Gurugram, he told that Jharkhand possesses 40% of the total mineral wealth of the country.
