Purchase of jowar, millet at support price from today: Govind Singh Rajput

Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has informed that the purchase of jowar, millet at minimum support price for Kharif marketing season 2024-25 is being started from November 22. Purchase will be done till December 20. The support price of jowar Maldandi is Rs 3421, jowar hybrid is Rs 3371 and millet is Rs 2625. FAQ quality produce will be procured from farmers at these rates.

Minister Shri Rajput has informed that procurement will be done from Monday to Friday of every week. He has urged the farmers to reach the procurement centers at the scheduled time and sell jowar and millet. It is noteworthy that 9 thousand 854 farmers have registered for millet and 5 thousand 933 farmers have registered for sorghum.

After purchasing sorghum and millet at the support price, the payment will be made in the bank account linked to the Aadhaar number during farmer registration. Collectors have been instructed to take appropriate action to prevent illegal sale of produce brought to the procurement center from neighboring states during the sorghum and millet procurement period.

The district level committee will monitor the final resolution of all procurement related disputes and the quality of the procured food grains. A control room has also been set up at the state level.
