• The 'Khadi India Pavilion' is based on the theme 'Developed India @ 2047' in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

 

• The 'Khadi India Pavilion' set up in Hall No. 6 presents a glimpse of the products of 'New Khadi of New India' through 225 stalls.

 

• The theme pavilion prepared by the Center of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK) is a center of attraction among the youth.

 

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is participating in the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF)- 2024 being organized at 'Bharat Mandapam', Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from 14 to 27 November 2024. On the theme of 'Developed India@2047', the Commission has displayed a wide range of products of 'New India's New Khadi', which has become a global brand under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, in Hall No. 6. On Wednesday, KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar visited the Khadi India Pavilion. During this, he interacted with young entrepreneurs and Khadi artisans from across the country at the stalls and got information about their products.

In a statement to the media, Chairman KVIC Shri Manoj Kumar said that the Khadi India Pavilion has been prepared in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi 'Developed India@2047'. 225 stalls have been set up for the participation of Khadi artisans through Khadi institutions, units established under the Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and units established under SFURTI Cluster from across the country, in which the best handicrafts, Khadi and village industry products have been displayed. Chairman KVIC also observed the Desi Charkha, Peti Charkha, electric potter's wheel, process of extracting Kachi Ghani oil, live demonstration of making Agarbatti (incense stick) and Dhupbatti (incense stick) made by recycling flowers used for worship in the temple.

KVIC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Khadi has become the most trusted brand, which is clearly visible in the products displayed in Khadi India Pavilion. Under his visionary leadership, Khadi has set new standards in the direction of "Swadeshi" and "Aatmanirbharta". He informed that India's rich heritage, craftsmanship and handicraft are being displayed through products made by artisans from different regions of India at 225 stalls set up in Khadi India Pavilion. More than 40% of the stalls are allotted to the organizations related to 'Khadi' production, the remaining stalls display the products of the units of Village Industries, PMEGP and SFURTI. Shri Kumar further informed that the objective of Khadi India Pavilion is to display the products made by the skilled artisans of the country and also to promote the initiatives of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi 'Vocal for Local' and Aatmanirbhar Bharat. In this pavilion, the artisans of the country have been provided a central platform to present their art. He further said that the 'Khadi Revolution' under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has taken the business of Khadi and Village Industries beyond Rs 1 lakh 55 thousand crore in the last 10 years, while 10.17 lakh new people have got employment in the last financial year. KVIC Chairman Shri Kumar appealed to everyone to buy indigenous products so that lakhs of artisans associated with KVIC in rural areas get livelihood opportunities. ****************End***************

IITF-2024, KVIC Theme Pavilion Key Features Pointwise

 

1. The 43rd Indian International Trade Fair-2024 (IITF-2024) is being organized from 14th to 27th November 2024 at Pragati Maidan, Delhi on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ (Developed India @2047).

 

2. To promote the ‘Vocal for Local’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ campaign led by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, KVIC has set up ‘KVIC Theme Pavilion’ in Hall No. 6, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

 

3. The KVIC Theme Pavilion is the grandest and most comprehensive in the entire International Trade Fair, which has been designed in line with the vision of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and to fulfill the resolve of Developed India @ 2047. 4. In the Khadi theme pavilion, you can experience the art of making Desi Charkha, Peti Charkha, Electric Pottery Wheel, Kachi Ghani Oil Extraction Process, Handloom, Vertical Handloom, Hand Paper Making, Agarbatti-Dhoopbatti made by recycling the flowers used for worship in the temple, live demonstrations of making them yourself, beautiful stalls of which have been set up in the theme pavilion. Its purpose is to provide an interactive experience of the traditional process to the visitors.

 

5. The development journey of the 'New Khadi of New India', Khadi yesterday and today, as well as how the new clothes of the new Khadi of New India in Amrit Kaal have been depicted.

6. Knowledge Portal prepared by Centre of Excellence for Khadi (CoEK) With the aim of making Khadi fabrics more popular among the youth, designs of new fabrics along with their features have been showcased.

7. At stall number 9B, products made of pure leather like trolley bags, laptop bags, women's hand bags, etc. of Fahad Khadi Gramodyog Leather Industry of Maharashtra are also being liked a lot by the visitors.

 

8. At stall number 27I, decorative products made of brass and copper made by Shri Kalindi Kala unit of Punjab remain the main center of attraction for the visitors. Shri Kalindi Kala unit was established in 2017 by Mrs. Leena Singh with a PMEGP loan of 15 lakhs, which today has a turnover of more than 2 crores. An amazing view of the art of artisans can be seen in the artistic products made of brass and other metals. Products ranging from Rs 350 to Rs 15 lakh are available at this stall. You can also buy a statue of Datia Maharaj riding an elephant made of ashtadhatu, worth Rs 15 lakhs at this stall.

 

9. At stall number 43A, carpets and rugs made by the “Fahad Carpet” unit from Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh have been exhibited. The artisans have weaved stories through pictures on the carpets. In which their story carpets are attracting the visitors a lot. The turnover of this PMEGP unit is more than 1 crore today.

 

10. Different varieties of tea are available at stall number 45J. This time at the stall of this PMEGP unit, you can buy Calfree Butterfly Tea (made from Aparajita flowers) which will protect you from various diseases.

 

Other products- Detox Tea (made from pomegranate seeds, black pepper and other spices)

 

Hibiscus Tea (made from hibiscus flowers)

 

All types of tea – 25 tea bags of 1.5 grams each are available at a discounted price of Rs 200 per pack.

 

11. At stall no. 28I, you can buy shawls, suits, stoles and other attractive fancy products from Pearl Khadi Village Industries Institute, Jammu at prices ranging from Rs. 500 to Rs. 4 lakh (Pashmina Shawl).

 

12. At stall no. 29F, you can buy Bikaneri Bhujia, papad, sweet and sour namkeen, mangodi, besan gatta etc. from Kumawat Namkeen Udyog, Bikaner. All the products are available at the price of Rs. 120 per 400 gram packet. The founder of the unit told that his PMEGP unit, established in 2014 with a loan amount of Rs. 15 lakh, is providing direct employment to 10 people and indirect employment to 20 people. 13. At stall no. 42H, you can buy suits, sarees, bamboo silk sarees (at the price of Rs. 2300 to Rs. 2700) from Gujarati Handloom and Handicraft, PMEGP unit of Delhi. Here you will find attractive indigenous products ranging from Rs. 2300 to Rs. 30,000 (Carni work saree).

 

14. At stall no. 13D, you can buy various fabrics of muslin, matka, jamdani, handprint khadi, tussar silk from Sudha Krishna Khadi Gramodyog Samiti, Kolkata.

 

Katan silk saree, Kantha saree (available at the price of Rs. 5 thousand to Rs. 15 thousand). Along with this, as told by the stall vendor, the price of all the fabrics being sold is from Rs. 350 per meter to Rs. 4000 per meter.

 

15. Main products by REGP unit from Mysore, Karnataka at stall no. 45D include chemical free hair oil (made from 108 herbs) priced at Rs. 1500 for 500ml, massage oil with incense sticks (Mysore Sandal), face pack (made from the juice of Khakra flower from the forest), sandalwood powder etc. The stall vendor told that different types of products are available at his stall from Rs. 150 to Rs. 1500.

16. Multipurpose mats by Anabiya Crafts from Rampur, Uttar Pradesh at stall no. 42H, which can be used at home as well as while travelling, are also making a unique identity, available at a price of only Rs. 1200 (6x3) to Rs. 2400 (6x4). 17. Stall no. 47B has water bottles, coffee cups, pan stands, table lamps, money plant stands and other local products made from bamboo by Barpeta Cane & Bamboo Sphoorti Cluster of north-eastern state Assam. The stall vendor informed that about 40 people are getting employment through this Sphoorti cluster.

 

18. Stall no. 15C If you want to buy woolen jackets, towels, lungis, bedsheets etc. then you can visit this stall of Rashmi Khadi Gramodyog Sansthan, Saharanpur. The stall vendor informed that this time the main product is Dutai bedsheet which is being sold at the price of Rs. 1100.

 

19. Stall no. 14D has main products ranging from Rs. 2000 (cotton saree) to Rs. 10,000 (raw silk saree). The stall vendor informed that in the production of these products, about 20 people are getting employment through Jari Zaroor Spruti Cluster, Azamgarh.

20. At stall no. 47D, you can buy beautiful organic products made of cane by 'Shilpa Pati Industry', a REGP unit established in 2005 in Assam. The stall vendor informed that he is participating in this Indian International Fair for the first time. The products made by him include ladies purse, laptop bag, tiffin bag, file cover, mobile bag, hat, school bag, office bag, mat and other small and big products whose price ranges from Rs. 80 to Rs. 650. If you are fond of buying indigenous handmade things, then definitely visit this stall.
