Ali Asgar Bohra - Jhabua
On Tuesday, workers of District Jhabua Congress Committee staged a sit-in protest in Ambedkar Park of the city. Voting for Vijaypur Assembly by-election of MP was completed on 13th November.
Congress District President Prakash Ranka said that during the voting, BJP leaders, workers and social elements carried out violent activities to influence the voting. At night, they entered the settlement of Koyta village and vandalized houses and also set them on fire. Along with damaging the crops of the farmers there, the statue of Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar installed in the village was also broken and damaged. Even when the local Congress workers lodged a report of the said incident, no action was taken. MP Congress Committee is staging sit-ins in the entire state. Because the Congress party will not tolerate the insult of Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Secondly, the BJP is using government agencies in the elections, which too will not be tolerated. The Election Commission is also not paying any attention to this.
This was opposed today by Congress leaders and workers. A memorandum addressed to the Governor was also handed over to the Tehsildar during the protest. Also, during the dharna, former Prime Minister Late Indira Gandhi was paid homage by garlanding her picture on her birthday.
